NWO Theme Song

Posted: Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:26 amPosted: Fri Jan 13, 2006 12:08 pmB-Movie, "Nowhere Girl". It was a signature new wave song for me at least, plus it fits well...kinda obscure from the masses but still mainstream enough that many people might have recollections of it. But there must also be some "theme" song that fits even better.

"Nowhere Girl"... damn good choice. I'll have to go with "Living On Video" by Trans-X, the instrumental version of "Don't You Want Me?" by The Human League, or "Electricity" by OMD.

Posted: Fri Jan 13, 2006 12:26 pmMy vote would be for the song that won the "Favorite Songs" poll:
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart
Why? It's one of my favorites and ya can't argue with the logic... can you?

If it had to be New Order, I'd vote "Regret" all the way:
"Maybe I've forgotten the name and the address
Of everyone I've ever known, it's nothing I regret...
You may think that I’m out of hand, that I’m naive, I understand.
On this occasion, it’s not true. Look at me, I’m not you..."
Then the cautionary epilogue of:
" 'Just wait till tomorrow'...
I guess that’s what they all say
Just before they fall apart"
That song feels like this place sometimes in the sense that a lot of people here seem to really be alive, into their music, into their interests, perceptive of life around them, and not really giving a damn what other people think. That's New Wave man!
Okay, turning off embarrassing gushing. [:I]
How about "Remember the Lightning" by 20/20?
"Dead Souls", Joy Division? "They keep calling me!!!"
TSOL, "Thoughts of Yesterday"?
"Memory Lane" by The Sinceros?
"Only a Memory" by The Smithereens?? [:D]
