I think the Spoons are fantastic,I'm glad there are others that feel the same way. I never thought this band got nearly the credit they deserved. I posted a thread on another site recently and one of the things that I said bothered me was the fact that nobody had taken the time to create a web site for them. I'm glad you have dcappe, keep up the great work. I noticed that it says on your site that The Spoons will be playing some live shows starting in May and they may record some new material as well...please keep us updated. ...If you wanna see my thread about the Spoons please see below...

Carolyn has maintained an excellent Spoons web site (It is Spoons, not The Spoons) for years.

Hello...As per the following web site..a message from Gord.

http://www.geocities.com/spoonsfan/index2.htm

"I'm happy to say that we have a live concert DVD coming out in May through Much More Music and Linus Entertainment. It'll have the '81 CityTV show and mid 80s CHUM Big Ticket from Montreal."

I was down at HMV in Toronto yesterday looking for this DVD but I was un-able to locate it. Are there any updated ? Has the release been delayed ? [?]

Yes it has been delayed. For how long? I have no idea. Ask Gord[8)]

Actually I got an email from Gord a few days ago and he said that it was coming out in August at which time they will be doing more shows to promote it.

Cool, I hope they come to Vancouver again :). I missed the beginning of their show last time, because it started earlier than I thought. Instead, I was bumming around the CD store across the street killing time.

There will be more once the upcoming DVD is released in August. These are just a few corporate gigs they are doing until then.

Hey Spoons fans
I have registered a new address for the Spoons site.
http://www.thespoons.ca is the new home for my Spoons website. Now before you all jump in and tell me that the band's name isn't The Spoons, I know. I tried to get www.spoons.com, www.spoons.ca, and www.thespoons.com. They were all take so I thought www.thespoons.ca was a good compromise.
In just about 3 months it has gone from an idea to an almost complete discography and video archive. I have added setlists, news, upcoming shows, links and a guestbook. I plan to a forum in the near future as well. I hope you are all enjoying it. If you have anything at all to add to the site, let me know at the new email address info@thespoons.ca. Setlists, live tapes of shows, video footage, obscure first singles (hint, hint), anything, just email me and I'll add it to the site.

Nobody turned up the vids for "Waterline" and "Sooner or Later" yet? (And "The Rhythm?" I was told there was one for that, but not like I'd know, since the band went 4 years without an American record contract -- and, consequently, airplay.)

It was awesome to finally see "Be Alone Tonight." You all notice how it bookends "Rodeo?" Gord throws the guitar in the first and it lands in the second.

And, Darrin, the site's coming along great.
