I may not agree with some of the choices, but some nice trivia interwoven.

I like "Sunglasses at Night", it's a great song!

Then again, that, or anything else by him, was never released over here so don't know the history behind it.

The list unfairly targets novelty songs - a creative practice much more prevelant in the 80's. Few seem to have a sense of humor there days.

I would have filled the list with 80's hair metal.

Come On. Everyone knows that hangin' tough by the new kids on the block should be at #1 on every worst of 80's list. And possibly on every worst song list ever. No way is we built this city worse than hanging tough.

Cool list. None of entries suprise me. I kinda dug the video for "Fish Heads". It was so bizzare.

I think the Starship song is worse because based on their previous output, we had a right to expect more from them. NKOTB were always supposed to suck so "Hangin' Tough" just doesn't stand out as much as "We Built This City". It's all relative I guess.

The judges who put this list together were not New Wave fans. They've out several New Wave songs in the Top 20. I could think of many '80's songs that should have been on this list but weren't.

I agree with Wham...but

How about "On My Own" by Michael McDonald/Patti LaBelle for example?

BTW: One track they failed to list that was a bona fide station changer back in the day: Bonnie Tyler's - 'Total Eclipse Of The Heart' (hated the bizarro video even more)[:(!]

On a more obscure local (LI) radio market level, Thrashing Doves' - 'Jesus On The Payroll' always made me blip to the next preset or pop in a tape mix without fail.

Man that is all so way out of wack its hurting my brain (no comments!) [:p]

If I had the energy, I'd shuffle them into soem sort of sense! and probably remove many of them from the list completely! hehe

Any such list without Mellencamp is null and void.

Besides, there are a couple of brilliant songs intersped amongst the stool in that list. How can you not like "Walk the Dinosaur"?

<font size=1 color=#CC6600>"Sometimes I want to die in my bed,
All I can think about is "When are we leaving?",
Everytime I think of you I want a cigarette,
Man chooses himself, hero with a thousand faces,
It's the third night and the walls are shaking"--Tuxedomoon, "Desire"</font>
