Yeah, right. Bush raised gas prices so he could lower them closer to the election. The drop in price is due to some or all of the following factors:

* It's past Labor Day, so demand is down
* No scary news in the Middle East
* Large quantities of oil found in the Gulf of Mexico (even if it won't make it to market for 3 or 4 years)
* The leaky pipeline in Alaska is still delivering oil
* No hurricanes cutting off supplies or processing facilities

I'm with Randy.
The only thing I see that has changed is we are past Labor Day.
Everything else is the same.
Maybe the oil companies have no more room in their bank accounts for any more money. [;)]

The drop in gas prices is resultant of the news that Britney had her baby.

Just kidding. The drop in prices directly correlates to the election.

Ha ha, I know exacty what you are saying. On the other hand, though, allowing those gas prices to drop sure didn't end up helping them in the elections, eh ?[}:)]

Dredging up this topic. It's the day before the election and prices have dropped to about $2.23. I may have been wrong earlier....

$1.89 Regular Unleaded, $2.02 for mid-grade 89 octane today. A friend of mine that manages a Valero store told me they expect by Sunday to be down to $1.72 for regular. Not that they are sharing that info, but their projections are for $1.40 by Dec 1. I can live with those prices, though $1.00 will be even better.
