If U wish to follow diligently the latest recommendations of the record industry, U are free to do so but in France from grade school we are trained to develop a cartesian mind and to call a spade a spade, therefore the term Power Pop doesn't make any sense. I believe that my own definition of gentle, mainstream and power new wave is much clearer but you are entitled to think otherwise. However be prepared to adjust your vocabulary, I heard that THEY are coming with something new next year.[:D]

If I need one more bully,I will ring you for my photo album but frankly I'm not very sure, it is kind of full right now. [:D].

It's funny how anybody who recognizes the fact your full of shit is a bully. The bully club here will be large indeed, better start shopping for more photo albums.

Ok, I'm removing one of the pictures of Motors to make space for yours. You could even face each other if U wish, are U happy now?[:D]

As for artists I don't like, the ones I probably dislike most are ones I initially liked. Then when the thin veneer of novelty wore off, I realized they had little substance. I'm a sucker for that pop sound until my 20/20 hindsight kicks in. Gene Loves Jezebel is a good example. Used to love 'em, now I can't really listen to 'em except for a couple of songs when I'm in the right mood.

Of course I'm guitly of hyping the band initially, then have to put my tail between my legs when it turns out they're not the next big thing. I hate when I get seduced like that!

I remember a period in the nineties when I overplayed The Smiths and New Order to such an extent that when I finally decided to upgrade my vinyl and cassette collection to CD, I thought of getting only a few of their albums. However after a few years of sabbatical leave from those groups, I realized how important they were for the new wave genre and I ended up buying practically their entire library. I don't regret my decision since I was able to discover songs which had escaped me with my tendency to play mostly the Hits rather than the whole albums. To cut the story short I think that we should not hate bands simply because we overplayed them, after all the quality of the bands is not at stake here, it was maybe a question of overexcitement on our part.

What makes me hate an artist? Something hateful that they've done. Examples: I can't stand listening to john lennon knowing he was a dead-beat dad (although because of Paul, George, and Ringo I'll still buy music by The Beatles). I can't stand listening to aerosmith because steve tyler molested a child. I can't stand listening to the who because pete townshend paid to receive child pr0n (same for gary glitter). That sort of thing. Hating an artist and their art goes beyond plain ol' sucking at music.

I liked You2's earlier stuff, but they are a tired, long in the tooth act now (IMO)...if I only knew how to categorize them. Perhaps developing a more cartesian mind would help me in that regard. Then again, I'd would more like Frenchie...hmmm...no thanks.
