Not New Wave, but Queen's song Sheer Heart Attack wasn't on the album Sheer Heart Attack.

This one's only 25%-right: The Keane song "The Iron Sea" appears on their new album "Under The Iron Sea" - but not on the U.S. version. So the song title isn't exactly the same and it DOES appear on the album ... or at least some versions of it ... but you get the idea.

[Don't get me started on this whole "bonus track" thing either. Why they left that song off the U.S. version is a mystery to me.]

not a song title, but rather a source for a song title:

Cocteau Twins has an EP entitled Sunburst and Snowblind</I>. But that title is actually a lyric from "When Mama Was Moth" on their previous LP, Head Over Heels.

The Cocteau Twins had lyrics ? Actual lyrics? And all this time I thought it was just nonsensical babbling by Liz Frasier. [;)]

Robyn Hitchcock's "Queen Elvis" was on "Eye," the album before the album called "Queen Elvis."

OMD Sugar Tax, which ended up as a bside (I think from a single off that album).

Yes, "Sugar Tax" was the B-side to "Then You Turn Away." An OK slow song cut from the album. I always thought OMD's slower songs were more superior to the faster synth ones.

And the song "Liberator" was dropped from the Liberator album.

I didn't know there was a Liberator track. Did it ever appear on any album/ CD?

I don't think any of these songs have seen the light of day (meaning released), and according to the "official" OMD website, here is what it says under "Trivia" for the album Liberator.

"Among the songs dropped from Liberator were Style And Grace, Cruel, You're Always Coming Back To Me, Sanctus, Next To You, Twins, and Kiss Of Death. A song also called Liberator was dropped as well."

Practically every track on Liberator should have been dropped [:D].
