1 Bad Song by your favorite New Wave Band

Postby empyrean » Sun Nov 26, 2006 5:07 pm

No matter how we love our favorite band, there is still this one song from them that doesnt fit right.

Just ignore this if theres already a similar thread.

1. The Smiths - Hand In Glove
2. OMD - Locomotion
3. Duran Duran - Notorious
4. China Crisis - Hannah Hannah
5. Stone Roses - Fools Gold
6. The Cure - Why Cant I Be You?
7. Pet Shop Boys - New York City Boy
8. New Order - World In Motion
9. Depeche Mode - I Feel You
10.Screaming Blue Messiahs - 55 The Law

This list are just my personal opinion.

<p align="justify">

- "Lovecats" by The Cure

- "Flexible" by Depeche Mode (always hated that song)

- "Wild Boys" by Duran Duran

- "Doot Doot" by Freur (just kidding![}:)] I LOVE THAT SONG!)

- "Obscure Alternatives" by Japan (also my least favourite album by them)

- "Music" by Madonna (although I hate anything that came after that album)

- "(Forever) Live And Die" by OMD (there's quite a few I don't like afterwards as well...)

- "The Main Thing" by Roxy Music (I sometimes skip this one. It's not bad per se, but it's my least favourite from my favourite album)

- "Hand In Glove" by The Smiths (ha! I also hate it... I think it's the annoying harmonica)

- "Hymn" by Ultravox

Sometimes "duets" just don't work no matter how much you love the main artist...

Bowie (& Jagger) - Dancin' in the Street
Costello (& Daryl Hall) - The Only Flame in Town
Kate Bush (& Prince) - Why Should I Love You
Too Much Joy (& KRS-One) - Good Kill

"Touch And Go" by The Cars. In fact, after their stellar debut album and the follow up "Candy-O", the whole Panorama album was a letdown.

I'm pro Hand In Glove actually.

Here's my list:
The Cure- Anniversary (bah.. almost the entire whole last album sucks!)
I feel loved- Depeche Mode (pro Ultra- anti Exciter... hehe!)

Hurts me to my soul:
New Order- State of the nation
Well... I loveeeeeeeeeeeee New Order.

Hard to remember because if I really hated a song I made a point not to load it into iTunes.

Clash, Straight to Hell
Echo & Bunnymen, Nocturnal Me and Bring on the Dancing Horses
Smiths, Suffer Little Children
Spandau Ballet, True

Interesting. Several of the songs listed are my favorite tunes from the corresponding bands (Ultravox, Duran, Echo). Shows you how subjective it all really is.

Totally agree! Very New Wave, after two great Power Pop albums; however, "Shake It Up" had a lot of stinkers.
