Images In Vogue Expert?

Postby zill » Sat Apr 21, 2007 8:21 am

I know darrin cappe is our resident Spoons expert. Do we have an Images in Vogue expert? Are there any early live recordings available anywhere?

The expert would be Cheryl Inkster, but she's not on this board methinks. She has sold their merchandise on ebay, and is quite friendly with Wink.Introduced me to him at the Pilot Tavern last November at the Ready Records gig.

I am not an expert but I have an interesting CD of their material. I bought a 3 disk set of Classic Alternatives by SPG music and when I opened it there was a CD of all Images In Vogue material including some extended mixes included with the set. Unfortunatly none of it is live. The CD was not listed on the box so it was a nice surprise. I like surprises [:D]

They have at least 2 other comps which were issued subsequent to the CA set. Includes different, previously unreleased tracks. Not sure if any are live though. I hear that a dvd of videos is forthcoming, but these things seem to move at the speed of molasses, so be patient[:)]

Their website ( http://www.imagesinvogue.ca ) has some downloads, including a few live versions. There's a forum there that Gary Smith and Joe Vizvary participate in.

That's the Collection compilation. I wonder if SPG packaged it with Classic Alternatives because it wasn't selling. The disc that comes with the actual Collection release doesn't have the tracklisting on it, as it does on the Classic Alternatives release.
