Wow, there are some great stories here..
My ex husband was in a signed band and they opened up for INXS several times, well, the real INXS lol. They were all such down to earth guys and they would always hang out with us at the bar afterward. I was happy staring at Michael..
I met The Fixx when I was 23 (my girlfriend was a photographer for Creem Magazine) and spent the day hanging out with them.. Been hanging around ever since.
The Alarm
The Psychedelic Furs
Met the English Beat recently with The Fixx.
I think there's more but my mind fails me.

<br>I have met

Mike Score of AFOS ... nice guy, we talked for a few, got a picture with him as well. He was also telling me about some future releases and merchandises due later out this year.

Martin Fry of ABC ... very brief, but he did sign my LP so all is good!

Keren and Sara of Bananarama ... nice meet with the gals, of course I told them what my favorite song was, "Tell Tale Signs" they replied with ... "oh that reggae song we did" ... I thought it was cool, also got a picture with them

Annabella Lwin and Leigh Gorman of Bow Wow Wow ... Annabella is such a doll, she loved me! I talked about Adam with Gorman for a few as well.

Peter Byrne of Naked Eyes ... one awesome dude! I was very happy to get the chance to talk with him and get a picture with him as well.

Lene Lovich ... that's my gal! and what a rare treat

and most recently, Graham Parker ... he was a really nice guy, I also got a picture him him, we talked about Rachel Sweet ... he has no idea what she is up to, does anyone really know?

Yep, here's my story on that... my friend Chris Williams, I met last night at the 30th Anniversary party for The union Newspaper at Cal State Univ. Long Beach, and he was telling me about interviewing Amy Winehouse, and he had a hard time understanding her b/c of her accent, and then I told him about Midge Ure's thich scotish accent and the difficult time I had doing the Ultravox interview, then mentioned how much Paul Weller like Amy Winehouse... and he says, the last time I interviewed Paul Weller at the record company (don't know which year--didn't ask!) he walked by a life-size poster of Sting and hawked a lugi (spit) on it!!!! Angry man... [:0]

Great stuff, all.

Although this is slightly off-topic, I'm reminded that there are many great radio interviews/performances that were conducted for the WFMU (http://www.wfmu.org) program Jonesville Station.

Last I heard, she was writing and producing for televison.

I met Joan Jett back in '83. She was incredibly shy, and mostly stared at the floor. She was very nice, but I was suprised by how shy she was.

I met Robin Lane around 85. I was working the register at a store. She came in & paid with a credit card. I asked if she were THAT Robin Lane...she seemed kind of embarrassed by it - since we had been having a conversation about her coat beforehand & I think she wanted to pursue that rather than her work with the Chartbusters! Two previous threads too for a pretty big compendium of this stuff...

I can't find THE original archived thread on this. In fact, I can't find the proper links to any archived threads. Search links seem to be broken to them all. Real bummer.
