I think "Magic Moments" by Auto Da Fe would be a good inclusion.

It is a reworking of the old Perry Como tune. I think Midge Ure and Phil Lynott worked with Auto Da fe. All the material from this band has never even been on cd and it is coming shortly to itunes.

How about a list of "what's possible" and letting people vote?

It is very important to include some well known tracks - in the past A-Ha have been reliable. "Saty on these Roads" or "Hunting High & Low". So, have the Cure. "If you leave" by OMD would also be a good inclusion if a good mix is available.

I'm going to continue listing my top request - "The Look Of Love" USA Dub Mix by ABC. It's my all-time favorite 12" single mix.

Beds Are Burning (Kintoris Mix) ?Midnight Oil
New Year’s Day (US Remix) ?U2

There's gotta be extended versions of these? I heard a bad ass "true to the original" NYD about 5-6 years ago, it was FU^%ING AMAZING!!! Haven't been able to find it since. It's not listed as an extended version, but it sure is. Whoever did this did a wonderful job on it. I'd love to see a similar extended version of it come to light?

Also, how about a "Wishful Thinking"-China Crisis extended mix, a "We can get together-Icehouse" Extended mix?

I have those tracks from Midnight Oil and U2. They are amazing.

I don't think there is an official extended version for "Wishful Thinking" and I've heard some unofficial remixes and they sound awful. I think they add extra beats in there and it just sounds off. If someone did it right, this song would be incredible as an extended version.

We Can Get Together would also be great as an extended version but I haven't heard one.

I agree with the idea of some kind of poll/vote. Obviously some tracks have already been licensed (i.e. Karel Fialka) so it would be good to know what kind of direction things are going in.

Much as I like many of the album tracks mentioned, the theme of the series has always been to source rare mixes of tracks which were either somewhat well known or were from established bands, with perhaps one or two rarities thrown in the mix, and given that there are hundreds of unreleased new wave albums, I believe the extended mix format helps limit the selection process somewhat.

Given Hi-Bias' Canadian status, it seems that licensing for Canadian bands may be easier (i.e. Blue Peter, Eight Seconds) so my suggestions usually include some "mountie music". There's lots to choose from, such as Darkroom, One To One, Strange Advance, Rational Youth or Crazy House. Just no Bryan Adams, please.

A poll vote?! Whaddya think this is...a democracy?! [:D]
Unfortunately this is not feasible for various reasons. I do take all suggestions here into account, but I don't know how the final cd will shape up until the very end. Some things clear quick, some don't etc.
I can say that the licensing process has not started, so there is nothing for RA7 yet.

Hi-Bias being in Canada has no affect on tracks from Canadian bands/labels being obtained easier I am afraid.

I do try to stick with more established bands as they will appeal to a larger audience. I have a few more obscure ones in mind but when it is all said and done, it is about the 'completeness' of the cd and the series.

Bryan Adams is bringing sexy back.

Oh yeah, One to One: There Was a Time. I recall that the Angel in My Pocket extended wasn't that great.

Keep in mind my friend: Alot of the "extended mixes(different mixes)" from these groups, aren't so easily available, despite the popularity of these bands/songs. Many are locked away in archives or vaults @ labels, and alot of the time, bands usually forget what they've done, so they "dont see the light of day". Also too, many labels dont know what they have until theirs a bit of interest in a certain artist, or whatever. Alot of the mixes we've been asking for, are wonderful songs in their own right, and extended mixes/ remixes of them, only make them(most of the time), and the compilation better IMHO.

With me being a DJ, these "remixes/extended versions" help me tremendously in clubs. I love to watch people's faces lite up when I play some cool mix of a song they dig. Plus, I really enjoy the mixes R&R series myself. Alex puts alot of hard work into these, and I appreciate him for that. They seem to freak out when I play a cool extended version of something. A guy literally freaked out(I thought he hurt himself...) jumping up & down when I played the extended mix of :Q Lazzarus"Goodbye Horses", a track not very easy to find, let alone an extended version of it(which, I must say, Alex and crew did a bad ass job on). I only play that version now, as it gets HUGE responses from people.

I'm ALWAYS looking for cool remixes/extended versions of songs, IF they're done right, which the R&R series is.
