anyone know if there are any packaging differences worldwide on the new order reissues coming out soon? amazon us has "collectors edition" import pressings of each as pre-orders for $41.49 usd a pop but they also now have the us rhino 2 cd reissues (except brotherhood, but i'm sure that will be up soon) listed for $24.49 usd each. i'm guessing the only difference packaging-wise might be the way the cure reissues have been packaged differently between the us and the uk at least. anyone know for sure?

I wonder if one of the versions of Temptation will be the version from the Something Wild soundtrack, only a long version of it. To this day, I don't know where that version came from, but I like it so much better than the common version available on New Order's CDs (including Substance), and always wished I could find an extended version. I'm pretty sure it's a completely different recording, and not just a different mix. Does anyone have any insight into that version?

from http://www.niagara.edu/neworder/singles/temptation.html

> The Something Wild soundtrack has a short version that is very similar to the 7" version, but it is in fact a different edit.

The Substance version is a re-recording specifically for that album (same with Confusion).

I also wonder if Shell-Shock Remix will be the full 12" version. From the time listed in a previous post (6:28), that's the Substance edit. There's a whole verse missing from the Substance edit.

Yes the full 12 inch mix of shellshock lasts for 9 mins 42 secs. What i have been hearing mainly from the new order forums from people who have the promos is that it is the edit that's on it the same as substance. Still baffles me why the proper True Dub is not on i think it's Brotherhood and they put a crappy 1994 remix on it instead.

Man, what a bunch of douchebags. And I always hear people creaming over Rhino's Deluxe Editions ... Low-Life CD2 is only around 60min, so WTF is the problem with putting the full 12" version of Shell-Shock?

Well, I haven't pre-ordered these yet, so I guess I'll wait for fan reviews first. I did pre-order OMD + 808 State, though [:)].

Oh God... how frustrating to find the tracklistings of each bonus disc ONLY on the disc itself and nowhere on the packaging. How silly...

Maybe because if people knew the bonus tracks, they wouldn't want it :-D.

Seems there are mastering problems on these most notably on Brotherhood from what i was reading at the NO forum. Just glad i held off and never bought them. Though i have bought the 808 State remasters and honestly they sound superb.[:)]

At this point, if you have all the original New Order CDs, plus Substance, Retro, and Rest Of, it seems you pretty much have everything from these reissues, and then some, don't you think? I haven't had a chance to sit down and compare and do a check off yet, but at a quick glance, it feels pretty repetitive. Anyone know any tracks that are must haves from the bonus material on the reissues that aren't on any of the discs listed above?
"as all these "CDs" are clearly faulty. Channel drops, clicks, pops, from vinyl? Unacceptable."

And they're selling for 12 quid each? [xx(]

Yeah, although I'll hold off my judgement until I read more reviews -- and from the final commercial version. Besides, that -1 guy sounds like a douchebag.

I'll vouch for -1. He's got credibility in my book, knows what he is talking about, and has done plenty to spread New Order music.
