Regeneration Tour 2009

Postby TBone » Mon Dec 22, 2008 11:34 am

Ok, I know that some cities had a mediocre time with RT '08 (SLC was fantastic!), but now there is talk of the '09 line-up.

So far, word has it that it may be the following groups:

-Heaven 17
-Go West
-Wang Chung
-ABC
-Berlin

IF "Berlin"was the original lineup, then I'd be all for it, not interested in it if not. Also, they'll have to get a semi big-big band to round out the lineup, or their poor sales will cotinue, as NONE of the bands(sorry to say, who are all great) currently listed will make people really want to go out and buy tix.

Add folks like this: you might get more fans involved(meaning=more tix sold):

Flock Of Seagulls
Scandal
Icehouse
Duran Duran
Siouxsie and the Banshees(wishful thinking I know)
Pet Shop Boys
Erasure
etc.

I doubt adding A Flock Of Seagulls will rake in more sales than what they already have lined up. Just the same with Berlin, the whole band would have to be there for me to gather interest in seeing them live (hell, I'll take Terri Nunn live over the Score brothers live)[}:)]

Yeah, but it's not the "Score bros", it's just Mike Score. If they could somehow manage to pull off what VH-1 did a few years back, and get all 4 members in the group to tour? I'd do that way before i would just to see Terri Nunn w/a backup band. That's just me though.

Like I said, they need to try to get a bigger band, at least 1, to round out the lineup, and they should be ok. Maybe a Haircut 100, or a Naked Eyes, The Fixx, The Alarm, The Psychedelic Furs?

Personally, this lineup would be fine with me.....I have waited 30 years to see Heaven 17, and will never pass up seeing ABC. They are a blast. Berlin? Saw them back in the day with original members, so though I would see them again, they aren't the draw. Would love to add Go West and Wang Chung to the list of bands I've seen also. Still, the price would have to be right. Won't pay top dollar for most of these bands (sorry ABC...love you but seen you many times). I agree that there should be a few more bands that can bring a crowd. Echo & The Bunnymen? Ultravox? Yaz? Alison Moyet? Gary Numan? Simple Minds? For me there is a huge list that would fit the bill.

Nah. The Psychedelic Furs wouldn't bring more people or command more money for the tix. They're not that great live. One of the main guys from Naked Eyes passed away years ago, so it would be kinda strange to see how they'd perform. If they added The Human League, I'd be there[}:)]

Still waiting for Alphaville's Live return to the states.
Almost had a show in Toronto last year but got cancelled.

Alphaville is incredible.

I saw ABC, however I never had the chance to see Heaven 17, Go West, Wang Chung, and Berlin and to be honest I am really excited about this tour. I am looking forward to Heaven 17 the most. I also hope Go West decide to play "Call Me"

Actually, it looks like Go West had to pull out. Shame. Still, have wanted to see H17 and WC for years. Hoping they come here.
