"Ultimate" Pet Shop Boys

"Ultimate" Pet Shop Boys

This 19 track "defintive" best of is being released in Nov. A special 2 disc (cd/dvd) version will feature tv clips, live footage etc. With only 19 tracks (no track listing yet) selected from the boys' whooping singles catalogue, it will no doubt be a disappointment to all fans, except for the casual music buyer who would cherish this. Best stick with PopArt !

I wish they would release all those 12 inch mixes and dubs that have never been released on CD before and there are plenty of them on like a 3 CD set or something instead of rehashing the same old stuff.

This may be interesting with the tv clips and all. Hopefully it's a collection of 80's and 90's tv performances. The best thing that the PSB can do right now for all their fans is release a box set containing all of their 12" singles from the first album on cd (preferably with the original artwork as cardboard sleeves) and include all of the respective mixes including b-sides and their mixes. What I have been waiting for is a double or triple CD set with all the non-album tracks and versions they issued since their last (latest) 2-Cd remastered set Biligual in 2001. The 80s has been pretty well covered with the 2-CD sets in 2001, apart from various dub mixes and third party remixes, as well as the 1984 singles.

pass on TOTP's.revive the "further listening" series starting off with "nightlife" (announced in 2004 and then bumped off). more 12" singles, dubs, b's, etc? no problemo here.

there is a fan-made b-sides collection that covers 1994-ish to just before the last one out there- it's called "besides" and findable with a google search. i love it, and it sounds good.

Yes, I saw that in various MP3 sites, but even so, it would be even nicer to have it in full official CD quality, with recording info and liner notes by PSB themselves :)

Just as i thought. I made a list of my own which had exactly the same tracks except for I Don't Know What You Want replacing New York City Boy. Maybe some countries might release 2cd version !
