Not a christmas present if the cd isn't available to buy. At least it has more songs than the stupid download for a change.

I see your point. Although most die hards (like myself) will probably download just to have it in time for xmas. It's clever marketing to also release a cd version with extra stuff so that people would be forced to get that as well.

so i have a copy of this (friend of a friend of the band) and it is stellar in my opinion. it's like the follow up to "...ragged tiger"- like "notorious" wasn't album 4. it's fun, it's lo-fi but well-produced (thanks mark ronson!) and it's good to hear roger drumming up a storm. plenty of synthetics, but real drums, lots of guitar, GREAT john taylor bass lines, etc.
i enjoyed bits of the last album, but this one is great because it's not trying to sound like NOW. it sounds like duran duran, the best things they do. it's why i loved that devo album this year so much. it was totally THEM, but it sounded a natural fit, like this one does.

this was not very well-written, but you get the idea. i'm a fan of this new one from d2.

So glad to hear that. DD are timeless. Even if Rio or Seven And The Ragged Tiger were released today, they'd be huge hits. Really looking forward to next week when we'll be able to get All You Need Is Now. Also hoping that the unreleased album Reportage from 2006 will surface soon.

Just got it from iTunes for $8.99 until the cd arrives in a couple of months. DD have created another discodrenched electrogem. Feels like its 1984 again. After the awful Red Carpet Massacre ordeal DD are back on the new wave rollercoaster. Many people have compared this as a follow up to Rio. I can see some similarities but its more of a follow up to Astronaut.

So, it's kind of pointless then to buy the Itunes version, when the physical, hard copy includes 3 more tracks, NOT on the Itunes version? For me, I'd want all the tracks i can get from the new release, and i definitely would want the 2-3 extra tracks, so buying the hard copy is definitely, IMO, the way for me to go.

I Know. I'm waiting for the cd as well. I normally don't download , but for $8.99 and having to wait two more months for the cd i couldn't resist. Anyway the download was worth it.

I see what you're saying. But, if the hard copy is around the same price(and it probably will be with it being new), and you get 3 more tracks with that, it';d be better IMO, to wait for that hard copy to come out? From MY POV, you're saving $$$. That extra cash, can be put towards buying the vinyl copy?
