Limahl "Don't Suppose" due this January

In my email inbox I always create individual folders for each CD I order. Then you will have easy access to any order confirmations, which is handy in cases like these. Gold Legion are known (infamous) for delaying releases and not always replying to customer emails. However, the impression I have is that for the most part they are reliable. I ordered and paid for a CD from them in Dec 2009 (yes 2009) still not available. But I saved my emails... good luck! /JW

Sageful advice, Discoginfo. I keep all my receipts in a folder in Gmail labelled (drum roll) receipts so I can refer back when I need to, but I like your organizational tactic and think it's about time I copied you and did the same. I have my original receipt email. Just can't believe they won't make good on the order or let me know it went missing in Timbuktu or whatever the case may be. Really love to support the smaller labels, but in instances like this, it makes you wonder if all the extra effort has any payoff.

At the same time as I ordered Limahl's CD, I also ordered the Jellybean one. That one arrived safe and sound and I enjoyed it. So I know it's possible for the orders to work out right just like you are saying. Let's hope they eventually reply to me with some better news.

I ordered mine in February this year and received it in April. It took about 6-7 weeks by surface airmail from the US to the UK.

A friend of mine is having the same problem. Awful to deal with and the lack of communication is unprofessional at the very least.
Is this operation run by a 12 year old out of his bedroom?

thanks for thew tip. it's too late as i have ordered it already but i imagine the service would probably be shit throught their shop on amazon. maybe amazon forces them to be more prompt but so far through gold legion, it has been nothing short of garbage. i don't recommend ANYONE ordering anything through them especially a guy named greg .

Their service is NOT "shit" if you order through amazon. They don't put it up on amazon until it is available and it will arrive in a few days.

Yea, their service is shit. If they take orders on their website and don't deliver, that's shit, bottom line. Not responding to customer inquiries is rotten service. Should Gold Legion go under it's their own damn fault, not those who give them their patronage and end up burned. Proper business ethic is not "You Should Have Known Better" nor is that even a logical defense for the way they screw people. No one should enter into a business transaction just to have their money as good as pick-pocketed. And not everyone who places an order with Gold Legion is fortunate enough to see all the caveats placed here at NWO by those of you who have "figured out" how to purchase their releases, you clever, clever people. By the time their product gets to Amazon you're dealing with AMAZON, even if it is as a mediator should your money or order seem to evaporate. So they really have no choice but to play by the rules.

And by the way, their Grace Jones reissues sucked. With the deep well of bonus material from this point in her career they could have at least come up with something to add to all the time left on the Fame and Muse discs--or issue them on a single disc. Anyone who defends this company just sounds like an idiot.

I have mixed feelings. I thought that the Grace Jones stuff sounded quite good but some bonus material would've definitely been nice. On the other hand the Debbie Harry Koo Koo cd is the best reissue so far after all these years. I've never bought directly from Gold Legion for the fear of disappointment. Always wait till it shows up on Amazon.

Give me a break. Those Grace Jones CDs were long overdue and I can live without 12 inch versions if any even exist. Extras are boring and unnecessary for reissues that either have never been on CD (Muse) or are OOP and extremely expensive (Fame). People survived without extras when Muse came out on LP and they can survive now.

Their prices are low, quality is good.

I have recently ordered through the website because it's cheaper, but I WAITED until the CDs were up on amazon as well. Had no problems.

Stop making a mountain out of a mole hill. The advice on how/when to order has been repeated ad nauseum in this thread. Plus their website seems to be clearer about when CDs are actually coming out. And what do these things cost--$12? Let it go.

Quick update here. I tried another round of unanswered emails. Greg was my point of contact there most recently. Too bad it didn't work out. I would have liked to order from them in the future. They can keep the money they charged me without delivering the CD. That's not the point. The point is that there should be no lifehacker way to order from a reputable merchant.

I give their service an epic fail mark.

I hope the more reasonable among us will see this for what it is, complete and utter rubbish!

Amazon is the way to go when buying Gold Legion cds,at least you can file a claim and get your money back if your order is not received.

Also, make sure you don't cancel your claim until your cds have arrived, even if they give you a DHL tracking # and tell you that the cds have been shipped.

finally got the Limahl cd from amazon instead.
decent enough re-issue. funny that the second track was listed as "that special feeling" rather than "that special something" on the read of the cd package.
still nothing from gold union...oh well i guess i'll heep it a mole hill and count my losses on the 3 cd's.
