No, they first made their own mix (original) which was remixed before its first release in Oct 1985. The original mix remained unreleased until 2006 and 2008.

Actually the original version of waves was only included on the first pressings of Happy Families. It has never been released on CD. ALL other subsequent releases of waves have been the remixed version. Here is what the original version sounds like:

Acually the extended version of GAMH which appears on the UK 'Waves' 12" is a distinct remix from the extended remix version on the US 'That's Love, That It Is' 12", though they both have a length of 7:14.

The former was included on the Canadian pressing of the 'Second Helpings' CD, and the latter was included on the 2-CD remaster of 'Mange Tout' from 2008.

About "Wasted (Extended Version)", yes I saw that in the first posting here by "eighties", but it's not listed as such on amazon or play.com. On their fb page it just says "CORRECT TRACKLIST TO FOLLOW." At least that's all I saw, maybe I missed something, I always found fb in general to be messy compared to the good old web sites.

About Waves, I corrected it now in my discog. I much prefer the original album vetrsion.

There are definatley two versions of the extended version as I have both the UK 12" and the two CD version of Mange Tout
If you listen to both they are constructed differrently and I have always thought the version on the waves twelve inch built up better .

This is great news...only complaint is that Game Above My Head isn't also on Disc 1 as it was a massive New Wave hit on KROQ, 91X, etc

Also will miss Your Time Is Over but the rarities make up for this.

Of course I stand corrected! They are completely different.. the one on Mange Tout disc 2 should be called Game Above My Head (Tedious mix) [:p]

Agreed! And to make it worse, the sound quality of this particular track on the Edsel remaster is very poor - the high-end sounds very muffled.

However, on taking a second look, this mix IS tagged 'Long Version' so this may be indicative of what we'll be getting on the new compilation. Oh well - wait and see, I guess!
