Postby Lois » Mon Oct 15, 2012 9:14 pm

I hope as many fans inclus the hit "Der Kommisar (Original 12“ Version)" with a good mastering.

I dream future editions So80's presents = Dead Or Alive (2cd), Eurythmics (2cd), Alphaville (2cd), Jeanne Mas (2cd),Den Harrow (2cd),
Sandy Marton (2cd), Alison Moyet.

I dream lot others So80's presents.

I don't mind if Alphaville is going to release their 12"/b-sides collection themselves and charge more but just do it already. What are they waiting for, the 50th anniversary?!? [:(!]

This Falco 2-CD is set for release 7 Dec. My guess is it will be a compilation of album tracks and hit singles (for the Xmas Market) and that it will contain few if any B-sides/12" Mixes. /JW

What was the mix of "rock me amadeus" where it went through the dates of the life of Mozart?

Hi Jonas,

just to let you know: I appreciate your discographies very much. I check them very often - mostly to be sure that I really own ALL relevant releases/mixes of my favourite artists/songs. Have you count the hours it took you to put them together? ; )

Regarding Falco, I think you should also inlude the following three releases in his discography. (But I can only speak for the early years of his work.)

Falco – Der Kommissar (12") (Killroy-Label)
http://www.discogs.com/Falco-Der-Kommis ... ase/493263
> the only release to include the original long versions of "Der Kommissar" (6:23) and "Helden von Heute" (5:13) (which btw is some sort of homage to Bowie's "Heroes" - text- and sound-wise)

Falco – Einzelhaft (25th Anniversary Edition) (CD)
http://www.discogs.com/Falco-Einzelhaft ... se/1254852
> a very disappointing tracklist but it includes at least the following version - as far as I know first time on cd:
That Scene (4.22) (original version of "Ganz Wien")

Falco - 3 (US CD)
http://www.discogs.com/Falco-3/release/195396

> nearly the same tracklist as the original cd version but includes two different versions, which I think are still rare on cd:
Rock Me Amadeus (The Salieri Version) (8.22)
Vienna Calling (The Metternich Arrival-Mix) (7.39)

Cheers,
Mathias

Thanks Mathias, I have added those records now.
How many hours, hmmmm, I started in Aug 1996.
Maybe 1 hour per day in average? That's a lot in the long run.
Thanks for appreciating! /JW

On the US 45, it was labeled as the "Canadian Version." This is the version that most US stations played. It's on a CD released in 2000 called More Pure '80s:

I commented on the Facebook page that i couldn't believe that after all this time we still only get the one mix on here of 'Rock me Amadeus'. Shocking. Two of so much else including a pretty pointless instru-Mental mix of the otherwise excellent 'The sound of musik'

Each to their own. Lots of us like Falco. You only have to look at the sheer amount of albums released mostly after his death

Oh and comparing him with Black Lace shows your lack of knowledge on the subject really...
