I think when they said 9 of the original LP tracks, it's clear they are referencing the fact that they are using the original version of 'Love moves in strange ways', and not the re-recorded version on the LP. I wish they would have used the 7" version of 'I'm You Man' because the LP version is painful.

I love that they're including 'In Love And In Life', but I wish they would have also included 'For All I Really Care', and even the early Modern Jazz singles. I will be buying it.

I compared 2013 version track listings with database on discogs. I think 5 original LP tracks were arranged as bonus tracks and replaced by some of "B-side" tracks. The re-recorded versions will not be included with this 2013 release... I guess.

One more off my re-issue wish list! I had no idea this was in works. Thanks to everyone who bombarded Cherry Red with requests to have this re-issued.

I just got this in my hands. It is HIGHLY brickwalled. I am emailing Cherry Red because more of their titles are getting squashed to shit.

How difficult would it have been for the labels to have had 2 versions of reissues in recent years?

One for the iPod generation and one for us.

I have stayed away from the majority of reissues due to this ongoing nonsense.

Trying to listen and enjoy the music on a home stereo would be pretty much impossible with many of these reissues.

What a joke.

Why are people even buying CD reissues anymore.

I did get a response from two people at Cherry Red. They said they are looking into it, though the damage is done. I guess I can hope it doesn't happen on future reissues mastered by the same engineer, who I've read here is responsible for the Naked Eyes reissues others have complained about.

What I read, the "brickwall" effect MAY have been caused unintentionally by sending the audio file via some social media that, unbeknownst to the sender, compresses the audio heavily before blowing it up again... /JW

One of their responses to me indicated that perhaps this was a possibility. It sounded as if little more than a hopeful guess, but it makes no sense. The only brickwalled CD's I've seen or heard about recently released by Cherry Red are mastered by Dave Turner. Their other recent reissues that I've been satisfied with all have different mastering engineers named in the credits. It's hard to believe that this brickwalling happened at some point during transit. Someone made the decision to crank the volume to that level, and that person is usually the sound engineer. In the case of major labels, a sound engineer can be instructed to crank the volume. Having mastered for CR, I can tell you I never received any such instructions. It was all at my discretion. I don't think using a file sharing site has an auto brickwalling function, so it sounds like a deflecting responsibility excuse. I'm just saying...

I've not received any further responses from CR other than the initial "We'll look into it".
