A series of Cabaret Voltaire releases coming out

I find it humorous too! I mean, Cabaret Voltaire have never reached big album sales during their lifespan. But now when this box-set came out, it was all sold out in less than two months regardless of its high price, Amazon-wise.

it's normal.
they sold pretty well, during their peak mid 80's year
when industrial was big.

the number of box sets is very limited.

it's not hard to sell them, when you have a fraction
of the people that want it, and can afford it now.

box sets have more appeal.

it's not that surprising at all.

i have yet to see the vinyl version sell out,
so they're not that popular.

bit the bullet, and ordered it through amazon canada.

i'm partially canadian, so i can accept that.

can't wait until it gets here.

i have a lot of old cabaret stuff that needs to
be updated.

Yeah, I bit the bullet too. But I bought the full limited version for $210 on ebay, new. I'm more confident that this version will resale for this price or more once sold out. CD only version is unlimited, so will be interesting to see if they reissue more copies after the initial set has sold out. Now, I'm thinking not, considering the limited 700 copy version has yet to sell out.

If Mark is going for it then I was IN!!! I picked up the last one on Amazon that was not of an over-exaggerated price.
I did not know the CD box was the same size as the vinyl box.
I could not justify mentally paying the extra cost of the vinyl remaster, since these were digitally remastered by RH Kirk -analog to digital back to analog seems degenerative to me.
Beautiful but not so practical--- I will keep all of my originals, I will be very excited to hear the remasters.

got the boxed set today

great
-----
the book is very cool looking, and high quality
all the remastered albums - will check final quality of them soon
the earthshaker disc - lots of cool tracks to explore and listen to
the 12inch disc - nice to have them in one place

good
----
the 4 extra tracks download are 320k MP3
the packaging, and sleeves

subpar
------
the drinking gasoline video - low quality vhs dub
promo videos - low quality
some of the audio quality of the tracks on the earthshaker
are hissy, and noisy

the overall track orders seem haphazard and random,
just put everything in their order next time.

overall
========================================
well worth it. you don't really need the vinyl unless
you're a completist

i'm going to retrack all the discs,
remaster the videos, and add better sound to it.
also, i'm going to remake the book as a hardcover,
to last longer.

yes, it's acceptable, but unless you really want it done
right, you will have to do it yourself.

Unfortunately, the Box Set does not include

Blue Heat (12" Mix) which appears to be an original Micro-Phonies CD-exclusive track.
There is no evidence of the Blue Heat 12" ever having been released, nor does it appear as a B-side to any 12" single.

I just checked that out and I am not certain that it is actually available there. It does not say "In-Stock" like the rest of the Cabaret Voltaire items -- it says ships within 5-10 days.

Yeah, I would agree. Seems that only the limited 700 LP version is available. Shall be interesting to see if they make another run of the CD only sets. I'm guessing not in light of the available limited set.

ok, i've ripped all the original cd's, and the remix compilations,
along with conform to deform, and the laserdisc tracks.

we should get a good idea of how the remaster compares
to the originals.

i'll be posting my results.

That's all okay. And I was fully aware of it. When I said they have never reached big album sales during their lifespan, I meant album sales as big as those by the likes of Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, The Human League...etc.

Last one of the full Vinyl collections going for under $200 including shipping. After this one I doubt you will ever see another go this cheap.
