<br>they're popular in the philippines right.....

yes, they are (or were) quite popular during the late 80's and early 90's. part of their popularity stemmed from the release of some local DJ mixes of their songs which were played in make-shift discos with dj's in bandanas and sandals. sheesh!

i hope you don't mind, are you japanese? There is a kind of kinship in the musical taste of japan and the philippines during that period. Whatshisname from Fra Lippo Lippo mentioned at one point that they only had more than one concert in both countries outside of their motherland.

Primal Scream is not underrated here.
They've come a couple of times and they get played on the radios. Is that different is the US???

VDG generators can generate lightning up to 60,000,000 volts. Those things are freaking amazing.

actually they are the older type atom smasher used in the 30's on their theoritical experiments on the atomic subparticles, but now they are using the more powerful cyclotron in detecting new subatomic particles w/c can generate electricity at terrifyng power of billion or trillions of pure electric energy.

The Blasters were like distant cousins of The Stray Cats without the flash. Never got the MTV exposure they deserved.

This straight ahead, blue collar, rockabilly band hailing from Downey California, featured brothers Phil and Dave Alvin. Dave has also been known to play with X and their alter ego The Knitters.

The Blasters best known songs, "Marie Marie" and "Border Radio" got played a lot locally in So Cal back in the 80's. They still tour together and Dave Alvin has solo albums out.

Other great Blasters songs:

American Music
I'm Shakin'
Kathleen
Long White Cadillac
So Long Baby Goodbye

Don't forget Dark Night by The Blasters that was featured in From Dusk 'Til Dawn. That song rocks! I hope to catch The Blasters as they seem to play every few months in Southern California.
