Would You Give Up Your CD Collection?

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

Hell, I'd give up my cd collection for a cheese sandwich these days. Now my vinyl, that is a completely different story.

I had dated this girl for almost 6 years, co-habitated with her for 5.5 years. Together we had bought alot of records, and when the split came the hardest part (aside from the heartbreak) was divying up the vinyl. "I paid for that one, so it's mine!" "No, I loaned you the money for that and you never paid me back." "Yes I did, I bought dinner that night, remember?"

Oh, hell to the no. Nobody tells me what to do with my stuff! Like someone else said upthread, the girl of my dreams would love the fact that I'm into collecting CDs...or at least view my collecting habits as "an adorable quirk."

The guy of my dreams is sitting here next to me, and he doesn't want me to give up my CD collection. He only requests that I please refrain from playing "all the ones that suck" while he's around. Which, to him, is 99.8% of them.

Which I will do when he stops playing all his crappy ones in *my* company.

NEVER!!!

I will not be with someone who doesn't share my passion for MY kind of music. I'd rather be alone.[}:)]

I'd never give up my music for anyone.

Many of my boyfriends have laughed at my strange (I prefer the term "eclectic" musical tastes), but then later asked to borrow my cds.

After the relationship ended, I felt pretty bad for saying that. So I apologized to all my CDs for undervaluing them.

Wait, I think that was a They Might Be Giants song "XTC vs. Uma Thurman?" I can buy the discs back later, right?

We could combine our CD collections......

Oh yeah. I got 500 NW and General 80s CDs...so we'll do just fine.

And no, I would never...ever....ever part with CDs for a love.
Because new wave and italo are a kind of love...that I just cant let be. I MUST have it. She just has to be a fan too and listen with me....
Otherwise...leave me be to listen. I MUST listen..and play. The synth...is my universe.

Yeah!!! If we could combine our cd's collection, it would be great... [:D][;)] but remember if we share our cd-s then there's no divorce after that.
