Echo & the Bunnymen - 1987 eponymous

Postby scramjet » Wed Aug 30, 2006 12:52 am

I've just been listening to this one for the first time in a long time. A great listen all the way through - great melodies and arrangements from the gently introspective "All My Life" to the post-punk classic "Lips Like Sugar". Uncharacteristically lyrically weak in a few places. I was going to nominate "Bedbugs and Ballyhoo" for the "Worst 80's song titles" thread, even though I like the song, right down to the Doors-y keyboards.

Anyone else have an opinion on this album?

Echo and the Bunnymen is one of the best new wave bands ever. I dont think "eponymous were released here in the philppines. We have other compilations though like Bedbugs and Ballyhoo and recently, Seven Seas. But i think the song contents are the same. The Game will still be my favorite Echo song.

time in limited supply, under threat of extinction, that indefinable nothing, somehow motivates you, finding the right words, can be a problem,
