I love the scream. To me, it represents someone that can't take it anymore, and is about to go on a killing spree. I can identify.

It's great news the paintings have been recovered, and that they can be seen soon in the National Gallery in Oslo (I think they were there).

Munch's life was quite miserable, that's why most of his paintings are so gloomy and dark. Poor man.

I think it shows a personal experience he had, but I wouldn't dare to say it's a self portrait since it doesn't look at all like the self portraits he painted.
