The SOUND

New Wave/Punk music, culture, genres, memories. '80s revivalism and other relevant topics.

The Sound are one of my favourite bands. Probably only second to The Chameleons. Shock of Daylight is possibly the greatest EP of all time.

The Sound constantly break my heart with their songs of yearning and love and other human emotions. They are one of the finest artists from the classic post-punk era and it is so sad to think of all that great potential falling by the wayside in favor of less imaginative apers. I also wish that Adrian Borland could've gotten treatment for his bipolar disorder so that maybe he could've gotten control of his wild mood swings. All Fall Down is my favorite album of theirs, the one they did in defiance of the more commercial sound-seeking record execs and the one that's full of some of the most beautiful songs about love ever recorded.

i almost worship adrian.
the shock of daylight ep puts me in some sort of paralysis, i physically can not get up and stop that album when its playing.
there partially responsible for me giving up on music, i felt like i could never be this good, and they got nowhere.
it breaks my heart.

I could've sworn I read that you cannot "get it up" the first time I read your post. [:D]
