new Blancmange !

Postby KYYX4ever » Sun Feb 25, 2007 1:40 am

A friend sent me a link to Blancmange on myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/blancmange2006

in which they say they've reformed and are putting together a new album of new material. One new song starts playing as you open the page....sounds REALLY cool.

Well, this was originally announced in 2006, and they have 5 tunes on their myspace, but so far no new album yet.

I say we pepper their "info" e-mail with inquiries!

Well, I'm nonplussed. My e-mail to the address on their website netted the following response:

It's taking a long time to make this new material available, isn't it? I've liked all the new songs that have been put up on their MySpace over the last two years or so. 'Come On Now' sounded especially good to these ears. There's definitely room for them in the current climate of 80s bands reforming and Neil Arthur's lyrical style seems contemporary again. I hope that by time they get the new tunes out that they haven't missed the boat.

There's a rumour, possibly guess work, that they may support Yazoo on some dates, but I don't know how much truth is in that.

I've been rummaging around trying to confirm this, but so far the only mention has been on their myspace. I can't find any mention of it at the Yazoo website or anywhere else. [?] [?]

sorry schwenko, I'm not quite sure exactly what you mean by this....[?][?]

well, you can make it to the WLIR party at Otto's then, on March 7! That's kind of my birthday celebration so it should be a blast....

The first song that plays when blancmange's myspace page opens up is the best, "Murder" is pretty cool, the other two songs I could do without.

I really enjoyed the new Blancmange song "Drive Me". It reminds me of Hot Chip.
