Reissue Wish List for 2015

first 3 China Crisis albums with b-sides
Kissing the Pink Naked with B sides etc
Depeche Mode - a box set with all the singles/maxi singles (a remastered and less expensive version of the singles box sets - like less expensive 3CD box sets of Duran Duran, the Stranglers, MArillion etc that EMI released in the last few years)
The same for Killing Joke. They have released a super expensive box with individual singles, and double and tripple version of it but without all the B sides. WTF???
Sisters of Mercy - either a box set with singles/maxi singles in individual sleeves (I loved the artwork) or at least a remastered version of Some girls Wander...
Alphaville - Forever young w b sides and remixes
Real Life - Heartland
OMD - Crush, Pacific age and Sugar tax (allwith bonus material of course)
Visage - Visage with bonus tracks
Icehouse - a box set of albums with b-sides
Mick Karn Titles and Dreams of reason

To be honest I wish Depeche Mode would release 2CD/DVD editions of their albums. Preferably remastered again, too, with all the B-sides and essential mixes (I know they won't be able to fit them all) on the second disc instead of on a damn DVD. They could go crazy with MFM and Violator in terms of bonus content. OMD are also a big wish for me, especially Sugar Tax!

The Real Life ones would be a dream come true for me, but it doesn't look like they'll ever happen. The Icehouse ones from 2012 turned out to be brickwalled to the extreme, so I'd be happy with a boxset of the 2002 remasters with bonus tracks. As for Visage, that should've been done ages ago with the others!

so do you want the dvd or not. first you say you want it, then you say no.
its trivial to rip the tracks from the dvd, but yes they could have fit more on there.

Of course I want the DVD, just don't want all the songs chucked on there. I'd much rather they keep it for visual content and all the 5.1 mixes etc. Add all the music videos and TOTP performances to the DVD, as well as the 2006/07 short films. Didn't say I didn't want the DVD....

ok, i guess, it sounded like you didn't want one from the wording.

actually, putting them on the DVD is much better, if it's a dual layer, you can put 9 hours of stereo audio on there (i've made my own).
if there is other material, you can put 4-5 hours of it, which is way more than you could ever put on a CD. so you could fit every mix,
b-side, and live track on there.

i think it was a great idea.

Well its a lot easier now I'll admit. But back when I first bought one of the reissues (2008 I think) I had no idea how to get the songs off the DVD. Not so bad for someone who owns the DMBX sets I guess but sadly they're a bit out of my price range. Personally I wouldn't mind a continuation of the DMBX sets up to now and maybe I'll get them one day :D

In fact, considering the amount of room available, they could probably skip the DMBX ones and chuck all the material on the respective DVDs. Although I bet that'll bump the pricetag up considerably.

I've looked a bit into old threads where I posted before... still on the agenda for me, as those have never materialised:

X-mal Deutschland - Devils (+ bonustracks/mixes from both 12")
Erasure - Wild (2CD+DVD of 89 show @ London Arena + 90 @ Milton Keynes)
Berlin - Pleasure Victim (expanded CD + DVD with videos + US festival gig)
Xymox - Twist Of Shadows (+B-Sides/Mixes)
Various - Reset Records (Compilation of all 7"/12")
+ a new Retro Active Vol. would be nice as well (though unfortunately very unlikely...)

Al Jourgensen recently tweeted a previously unreleased 1983 Ministry track, 'Anything For You'. Combined with the appearance of 'Same Old Madness' on the reissue of the Twelve Inch Singles comp this year, I wonder if there isn't some early Ministry compilation in the works, gathering the 12" mixes and B-sides from With Sympathy, other demos/live tracks, and some odds and sods from the Wax Trax years that haven't been properly reissued ('Cold Life' 12" and 7" mixes; some Revco remixes and demos).

Also hoping that Mute's long-promised Clock DVA box set finally comes together. And the not-quite-as-long promised Captured Tracks reissue of Alison's Halo's Eyedazzler.

Here is my wish list for 2015, pretty similar to my wish list for 2014 I would imagine. I’d want all the remixes, b-sides and then live/demos. I honestly don’t know if there is any material out there to expand on, but these are some of my favorites that I’d love to hear more on.

ABC. Surprising they haven’t jumped in on the Super Deluxe versions. Except of Lexicon. But what about How to be a Zillionaire and I’d love to see the b-sides for Beauty Stab.

Amazulu. I always loved this cd and there has to be some remixes.

Berlin. Someone already mentioned this. Love Life and Pleasure Victim.

Big Pig. Loved that one CD also, with Breakaway.

Book of Love. The one Deluxe edition they did was a bit lame.

Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club. Loved this too, but don’t know if there is anyting to add.

China Crisis, already mentioned multiple times on the board.

Dead or Alive. Anything, a remix compilation?

FGTH. Can’t believe there are no remixes on CD. Just joking……..

General Public. All the Rage, where are the remixes!

Go West. The first CD, classic dance mixes.

Information Society.

Men Without Hats. Desperately needs Deluxe versions.

Missing Persons. May have enough for a remix collection?

Naked Eyes. Everything and More is too pricey…..They’d have enough for a Remix set.

OMD. Any and all OMD.

Scritti Politti. Cupid and Provision. Both are awesome.

TFF. Seeds of Love.

Wang Chung.

When in Rome. I’d love to see this expanded. I saw on eBay years ago a Remix set, but missed out on it.

The first Feargal Sharkey album with *all* the 12" extended As and Bs (and 7" Bs too) plus Loving You and Listen to your Father 12" and 7"s. And the promos on a DVD (the original VHS chucked on The Assembly for good measure which'd also be nice)

re: Beauty Stab, there is only one b-side, Vertigo, and that was on the last CD issue, with the flex disc medley and the unedited That Was Then But This Is Now. There were no remixes issued from the album, TWTBTIN 12" was exactly the same as the 7" (it even said so on the cover!) and SOS was only issued on 7" and the b-side was United Kingdom.

You'd hope there would be demos, out-takes etc but all the issued extras have already been compiled.

We've missed the 30th so how about a deluxe reissue of the first Visage album for it's 35th (god we're all so old...) anniversary this year? All the 12" mixes, b-sides, tracks recorded with Ronny...there's easily enough for a 2-disc version, and who knows what else is in the archives for a multi-disc set?

Again already mentioned but The B-52's must be the biggest band never to have had their back catalogue overhauled and remastered.

Don't forget the deluxe Skyscraping as well! That one was pretty straightforward though, as it was all CD single material.

I badly want to see the other albums expanded as well.
