Agreed that streaming radio by and large is very impersonal.

However, there are stations that do broadcast live shows with real DJs (at least on occasion). There are also stations that take real-time requests, mostly using an automation system - but

I'm so tired of how EVERYTHING on the radio sounds the same and how depressing everyone is!! And it's just getting WORSE. "The Box 107.1" is actually playing J-Lo songs.

Regarding LIR, once Dennis MacNamara left, that was the first nail in the coffin.

It looks like Island 94.3 has taken on most of the old LIR playlist & they have Malibu Sue there so all is not lost. They just have to take Tom Petty, Corey Hart & Meliss
