Out of curiosity, am I the only one who cant toss out a few items from this era? Not speaking records per se, but more of the other item like clothing or any other fad items. I do not fully know why I keep them, but I still have Painted leather MC jacket, and a couple of skinny ties in my closet...one even with the rising sun and Chinese writing on it...I even think I have a shiney reflective skinny tie somewhere... I should post a picture of them when I get a chance. Anyway, am I the only Packrat?[?]

I've never thrown out a music magazine, and I've bought and suscribed to lots. I've got boxes and boxes of them in the attic. When I finally kick and they realize what I've got up there, my kids and wife are going to think "what the hell was his problem...?"

No, you are not the only packrat. I wish I'd saved more of my stuff.

Man, I would love to go through those magazines!!! I have a couple old magazines here and there that I managed to save. A few old Maxamum rock and roll and a couple of spin. I had a few pictures cut out from spin's10 year anniversary of punk in my wallet for the longest time...they are now in a draw...had to make room for family picts. You should scan some of the covers and post them! that would be really great to see!

I still have my motorcycle and full length leather jackets from 1978...they haven't fit in years and the sleeve is falling off the MC but they'll be there forever...the full length still has the same The Jam button it's had for 25 years...

edit: oh, and a pack of matches from The Peppermint Lounge and a Spize secret word free drink pass...

I wish I saved my skinny ties. They're so hip right now. I got rid of all my clothes, even the studded belts which again, are so hip right now. I do still have my old MC jacket. I still have my old pins, some magazines, posters, just about all music related memorabilia [:)] And the videotapes got slowly replaced by DVD.

I've got a Sid Vicious t-shirt I bought in 1984. I haven't fit in it since about 1988, but I still wore it til about 1990. It now looks like it was printed on cheesecloth and the wholes in it get bigger if I so much as pick it up. I've had 3 different girlfriends sleep in it over the years and each of them wanted the shirt when we broke up, but it's stayed with me for 21 years now, and I really don't think it's going anywhere.

I have all the posters that used to hang in my room. They're torn at the corners and have holes in them, but I'm keeping them. I also have some magazines (Trouser Press and the like) that are falling apart as well as some buttons, and I think I still have the kerchief from The Alarm concert in 1985. I'm mad that I don't have the concert Ts anymore...

I have a ton of Rolling Stone magazines from 84 to 86...like to pull those out of the closet and look through them (Bill Murray talks about The Razor's Edge, etc) Plus all of my 45's with original picture sleeves. Those are my favorite [:D]

I'm a sick, sick man - I still have all of my buttons & pins. I saved all my old Blondie posters - they're rolled up in a closet somewhere. Still have the MC jacket, the short Eisenhower jacket, my clavary shirts, my old club clothes, a weird sweater with zippers on it, the studded belts, my old torn up jeans, most of my old t-shrts, I may even have some old bunch boots.... Everything is packed away in tubs down in my basement...

I really need to learn to let go!

Wolverine,

Now I know what you have in common with my husband. Although I did inherit a very cool two-tone leather jacket he had in the 80s (he outgrew it.) I don't have much of my own 80s stuff left. I stumbled across some records a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if I still have my pins, but I don't remember tossing them. I still have the sport coat from the second hand store that my sister gave me on Christmas '84. If that thing could talk...

I've got lots of magazines and posters from the mid 1980s and a bunch of old Cure T-shirts.

I wish I still had the clothes from back then. Not that they'd fit. I was 10 in 1984 ... It'd just be fun to look at all of that stuff again.

I REALLY wish I had jewelry I used to wear.
