Of course I'm there. Just got back this week from seeing DM with She Wants Revenge in Vegas. Was an amazing show there.

Sorta surprised at the drop of SWR for Jones Beach, but incredibly happy. Actually, there's no real clarification on whether SWR will in fact not be playing JB since they were heavily promoted on Ticketmaster as the opener. However, I doubt it with an 11pm curfew at most amph's and tickets already printed with start times.

Anyway, I'm seeing DM again on the 14th and the 20th at PNC Arts Center in NJ and Borgata in AC, respectively, so I'll get my fill (and then some) of the drone of SWR.

BTW, completely uncharacteristic for DM shows, last night in Mexico City, they changed FOUR songs on the set! Usually, DM fans are lucky if they get an alternate Martin acoustic track! Bodes well for the shows in Jones Beach, PNC, AC (assuming any losers besides me are going to all 3. lol)

Hey Blir, email me about Jones Beach. Would be great to meet up with ya!

Doh, gonna have to watch my wallet this time. I've seen Goldfrapp twice already in the last few months and DM a few times in my youth. I'm gonna have to pass with a Cali and Vegas trip coming up. This is a pretty epic lineup up though. I hope more of you can make it!

I am not sure if I can go yet. If I can't, I have no problem giving them away to whoever wants to go.

Yeh, it was a bit nippy but DM was HOT!
My thanks to marie3 for the tickets and to Marv for asking me to go with him. Goldfrapp put on a good show as well.
DM mixed it up with old and new material.
Main set:
Intro
A Pain That I'm Used To
A Question Of Time
Suffer Well
Precious
Walking In My Shoes
Stripped
Home
Judas(acoustic)
In Your Room
Nothing's Impossible
I Feel You
Behind The Wheel
World In My Eyes
Personal Jesus
Enjoy The Silence

Encore:
Shake The Disease(backing piano only)
Photographic
Never Let Me Down Again

Glad to see there were no effects from Dave's recent illness as he was belting them out.

Cool. [8D]
I am happy to hear it. Marv said he was going to ask you and I am glad he did.
What a great weekend you guys had!
The weather held up so that was a bonus.

It seemed to me that he was allowing the audience to sing the choruses alone more than Ive seen him do before. Especially during Walking in my Shoes and Stripped.I figured it was just to give his vocie a break on the first night back.

Actually, it was never Let Me Down then Photographic...was'nt it? To the best of my knowledge, they had'nt done Photographic live since the mid eighties. Awesome to hear it live finally! I always loved Photographic right alongside Ice Machine - love that vintage Mode!

The DM show was a spectacle to behold. I was so totally digging that retro/futurist type of stage set design! I was almost expecting Robby the Robot to roll out and start rocking the keyboards. All brushed aluminum keyboard stations with quirky, blippy lights and that huge, globe-droid thing just hanging off to the side - most cool. And the rotating video screens showing Anton Corbijn imagery mixed in with on the fly concert footage all distorted and groovy. Probably my favorite stage setup by far. And the guys still have it: Fletch doing his usual up and down bounce, psyching himself up before the first song; Dave still rocking the hop/sideclap and hip slowsway; and Martin just owning all with his effortless vibrato. I have to say, it was always the excepetion when he came out and did a little bit of guitar action but now him getting on the keyboard is the rarity. He only did it for 2 or 3 songs. He's all out there with the guitar and I have to say, it's almost funny how "rock 'n' roll" they've become, complete with the epic finales to songs. Nice to see how far they've come and evolved. The grand piano rendition of Shake the Disease Mart did was most rousing. It reminded me of the work he did on his solo tour.

Hey Long Islanders, if you ever go to a show at the Jones Beach theatre, park in Field Four. Abacab turned me on to that and it's just amazing. It's practically EMPTY. And it's only another minute walk to your car from Field Three which is always a nightmare getting out of at the end of a show, it's so jammed. Field Four, you're in and out in SECONDS.
