Don't worry Blir, I'm a chick magnet. We'll have more than enough babes hanging all over us.[8D]

What a show!!!! Raw power pop at its finest. Amazing being right in front of the stage with Peter spitting all over us. But being the babe magnet that I am, we had the girls surrounding us. Blir has the video to prove it.[8D]

FANTASTIC SHOW!!!

These guys are power pop with a capital P.
Ringing, stinging guitars; Peter Case's voice? Still sounds like he swallowed an elephant turd, but it works for me.
Maxwell's is a tiny place; before the set began the members of the Plimsouls walked around, and Blir recognized each of them, greeting them like long lost pals; they were all quite friendly (well Blir did offer to buy them drinks, and regalled them with tales of long past frat house gigs in La La land).
Abacab66 lived up to his reputation (Babe Magnet with a capital M!), We were right in front of center stage for the show, close enough for BM to get showered by Peter Case's saliva; that is until the word got out, and a gaggle of dancing girls were between us and the stage.
Blir has this all on his camera and will be posting proof that we 3 were in fact there with the Plims.
They played ?14 songs (you'll see the playlist I'm sure) including the Holy Trinity of Now, Zero Hour, and A Million Miles Away. They were LOUD!! I suspect their show hasn't changed in 20+ years (Thank God!!).
If you have a chance catch them; if you like power pop you won't be disappointed.

Very elemental. Very energetic. What a rush. It's pretty cool to just walk right up to Peter Case, Dave Pahoa and Eddit Munoz and just chit-chat about concerts that were 24 months ago and 24 years ago! This was very special to me. Was very glad for the great company - a great time. Hope to post pictures a the full video of the entire Million Miles Away performance when I get back home.

WOW!
Sounds like a great time.
Good thing I couldn't make it or I would have cramped abacab66's style with the babes. [;)]

Yes, Blir grabbed one. From memory, besides the 3 songs I already mentioned, they also played Hush, Hush, How Long Will It Take, I Want What You Got, How Long Will It Take, Hobo (instrumental),and Dizzy Miss Lizzie (encore).I'm misssing a few I'm sure.

It was a pretty impressive set that didn't miss a single Plimsouls great IMHO. It was exactly as the set list through Zero Hour...

How Long Will It Take
Making Time
I'll Get Lucky
Everyday Things
Great Big World
Hush
Shakey City
Oldest Story in the World
Everywhere at Once
Hobo (amazing!)
I Want What You Got
Now
Zero Hour

Million Miles Away was to follow but I think they slipped in Lost Time and In This Town before it then did Million Miles with a break and an encore that included their fun Dizzy Miss Lizzy cover. They may have also slipped in Women, Paper Doll or maybe even Come On Now in there toward the end. So they played at least 18 songs! Sorry I'm kinda fuzzy now a couple days later - should have responded right away.

Edit: finally getting to those pics...

Here's Peter Case, probably looking the worst among them for all these years of wear. His Nerves EP with Jack Lee and Paul Collins was in 1976 after all, and at least he looks better than any of the Ramones:

Dave Pahoa still had the most laid-back cool in this group:

On Drums wasn't Lou Ramirez or even Clem Burke (another Blondie connection in addition to the Nerves' "Hanging on the Telephone") but new guy Bryan Head (who rocked btw):

Eddie Munoz still oozed a great rock-n-roll persona and still knew how to shred a guitar:

He was also cool to the tourists afterwards, despite their fuzzyness after all the booze:

Well at least Peter Case is eating well. Wish this tour would be more nationwide. Maybe package them with other 80's bands.

So, which was the larger venue...Maxwell's or the one in Montreal where you saw BSP?
