Hey Mechi, it seems you may very well have been to the historic last show of New Order.....

Interesting comments about Freebass and Control, the movie as well.
Peter Hook does seem to be the ambassador of the band, does'nt he? He always seems to give the most interviews.

Yeah, seems that way.
I really do not want this to be the end of it all... I feel blessed to have been among a NO front row but I've never imagined it could be the "last row" and I certainly hope it's not.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this.
First of all there is nothing you or I can do about it in any case[;)].

They've been in this scenario before (cf. 1990s).
They've been a band for 2/3 of their lives, nearly 30 years.

And don't they have a new album in the can? There was much talk about how they had a number of recorded tracks for another album, post WFTSC.

I think there was follow-up though that that wasn't the direction they wanted to go - too much of the guitar-driven brit-pop of the last two albums. I forget where I read this, but some of crew wanted a return to a more clubby sound. So they may very well have nothing in the can.

But like you say, no matter. You can't control it and they've been slackers pretty much their whole lives. No different now.

Do they owe London any more albums?
If so I would think that whatever they have recorded will eventually come out.

Plus they have film of The Hammerstein Ballroom and Hyde Park concerts, right?[:D]

Yeah... I know New Order is known for their inconsistency as a band.

Maybe we'll have another more 10 years of stuff like Electronic, Monaco... BlaBlaBla... and then New Order again (with all their members in tehir 60s but well...[:D]).
