ipod parachute game

Postby letsgodiving » Thu Sep 21, 2006 2:06 am

speaking of ipod, i am hopelessly addicted to the parachute game and i've become so unproductive at home! i swore i'd quit if i made it past 1000, and finally i got 1011 (and sore hands and a spinning head!) [xx(]. that was about 3 months ago, and, guess what, i haven't stopped playing (though i haven't beaten that score).

does anybody else have this incurable addiction? what's your best score?

YES, and it's amazing that i have an xbox 360 and a Playstation 2, yet I'm always playing that game or my emulated Atari Pitfall on the computer. Stupid 8-bit technology [;)]

More than anything else, this brings back memories of my original Mac 512K. Parachute was one of the first games available back then. I remember we were so geeked. Now if only someone will give me one of those cool retro upright console games. I saw one with Tetris, Defender and bunch of other games for only like $5000! [:p]

Thank God I don't have the space for any of these. It was the only thing that kept me from buying one last week at CostCo [xx(]

I love it as well but too often the game ends with a glitch--either helicopters stop coming out altogether or my gun explodes after only one man reaches the bottom. Every once in a while helicopters come out but don't drop any men which is fun until you reach 1000 and then it's game over--nothing comes out anymore. My high unless this happens is only around 350 or so.

You're a man after my own heart, Blir. I also had a Mac 512K back in 1984 and later, an SE, on which I remember playing Beyond Dark Castle, Moria, and a few others. I still have the discs, for some inexplicable reason. Maybe due to my remorse over donating my original Atari 7800 to charity.

Defender was the best. Stargate wasn't bad either. Nowadays . . . Unreal Tournament, Halo, Ghost Recon and a few others keep my G5 busy. But to have one of those consoles . . . [:p]

While we're on the subject of Apple/Mac games, anyone play the Marathon series? These were quite simply the best game family ever to grace the Mac. Fantastic, intelligent FPS games with great story lines done by Bungie, whom I believe were swallowed up by Microsoft to later put out Halo.

As for the iPod - my addiction is Brick. Remember Breakout??
