History's Slant on This Iraq War

Postby MARV » Mon Sep 25, 2006 9:59 am

I saw this great poll on TV while at the gym today but never got to see the results.

Pres. Bush says that this Iraq war will be nothing more than a comma in the history textbooks. What do you think?

That's a pretty brazenly dismissive thing for Bush to say given the state of the war and its cost in lives and $$$. How do you think the troops are going to feel about that, huh? Somehow I think he would have stated precisely the opposite while posing in front of the "Mission Accomplished" banner aboard the USS Lincoln.

As for our Chickenhawk-in-Chief, he can then resign himself to be a smashed fly 'tween two pages in the books![xx(]

The question is Mike, how will history see Dubya. Will he be a "footnote" bad president (see Benjamin Harrison) or one whose errors were relatively disaterous (see Andrew Johnson)[:D]

I just hope he's not remembered as another Lyndon B. Johnson. We can't afford another poorly planned campaign like Vietnam.

If the US loses and Iraq degenerates into chaos and anarchy it will be a significant event. If the US wins and Iraq becomes a stable, prosperous democracy it will be a significant event. What a stupid thing for Bush to say.
