Got to 105 here in Sonoma County. Took the projector and DVD player poolside and watched movies while floating on the pool. Felt fantastic. Had the whole family in the pool at 10:30PM.

95.

Seems a bit cool compared to some of you guys! Usually, it's us in the SouthWest who get the brunt. I love the heat, though, so I'm not complaining.[:)]

It was 118 yesterday, and it's supposed to be much of the same today. Edison (our power company) is threatening rolling blackouts. I think I might have to kick someone's ass if my power goes out in this heat, while some CEO is sitting in his air-conditioned office with his outside heat at a mere 85 degrees.

It's been running 106-112 here. When it hit 112 last week, it was weird. I got into my car after work, and it was so hot in there that the skin across my forehead and cheeks felt really tight. It was like I was being cooked alive.

heh, BMG--get used to it! Out here, car interiors BAKE. You get inside one after it's been parked in the sun all day, and you think you've stepped inside a volcano by accident !
I remember when I first moved out here, I wondered why people would park their cars under the tiniest little bit of shade that they could find, even if it meant a longer walk. You'd look out at the parking lot, and you'd see clusters of cars under what little trees we have. Now I understand.
Well, I guess in TX, you might've experienced that as well...it's just...well, bakier out here![xx(]

It's unreal. I mean, it got hot where I am from, but crikey! A HOT day there was 103 or so. And that would last for a few days and then the rain would come...

Supposedly, we are in our monsoon season, too, but so far that has meant that it's hotter than hell during the day and then it clouds up and ... nothing (at least on my side of town).

You're right about shady parking spaces being in demand. I go to work early just to make sure I get one!

People always say to me "Oh it's a dry heat! It's not like humid Northeast heat!" I'm sorry - heat is heat & it's still hot, no matter if it's a "dry" heat or a "humid" heat. I've always hated it and I always will!

I do not find the sensation of dripping with sweat 24 hours a day to be a pleasurable one. [:D]
