Oh, BTW, I would have enjoyed the opportunity to respond to Beatschool in his thread, but sadly, it is locked...I've e-mailed him as he requested. I doubt he'll be handing me my ass though. What have I done, other than to point out that there is an inequity in what can be said here, depending on who is saying it?

Outside of my words to Beatschool, I would change the way and/or omit entire statements from the last couple of days. Spaz came out of the gate strong, but, whether I agree with his choice of causes to champion, I don't think anyone can question his good intents.

For every nasty joke I made towards Spaz, I'm publicly apologizing for here, as I have privately with Spaz. Besides bruising the feelings of a perfectly good guy, I also regret how I let my honest and legitemate concerns about the return of what many, including myself, consider a extremely negative element to this board, become a series of ugly potshots at folks here that (with a couple of exceptions) I would otherwise have had no problems with in any way shape or form, and would, and will, roll out the red carpet for if they ever make it out to my neck of the woods.

I'm not taking any responsibility of my coarse words away from where it should be held responsible: myself. But it does, at least in my eyes, confirm some of the fears that I had as soon as it was made clear that a ugly chapter in this sites history was going to be given a chance for a sequel(and we all know how much sequels usually suck). Yeah, it's Mike P's site, and as such it's not a democracy but a benigh monarchy (as far as a lil' website can be, anyways). I just hope that his very gracious and forgiving acceptance of what many here consider a cancerous element doesn't come back to haunt him later. I honestly would hate to see that happen, and I hope that, in this case with Kimiii, that I'm completely wrong.

I hate cliches, but the old "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" one is ringing through my head. I'll try to ignore it out of respect for Mike's decision.

Okay, I'm done yakking. Can't wait to see how BS will quote it out of context.

For what it's worth Hutter (i'm sure not much from someone like me) that was "taking the high road" IMHO. Good Show/well done (to coin a Victorian phrase)[:)]

I most certainly accept Hutter's apology and in response, offer one of my own for not keeping my mouth shut and using terms that were deemed offensive. It was certainly not my war to get involved with and I will withdraw my troops immediately.

I will not back off on the ideas behind my words, though. I still believe that there are bullies here, but I'll let them stay on their side of the playground and I'll stay on mine.

Recess is over....now back to class!

BTW: You ever make it to the CMT Awards? I haven't missed it in six years. If you're in town then, I can rustle you up some all access passes. Of course they'll probably be "imaginary" passes, at least in your world.

I appreciate the offer, but my years of service at NAMM make it possible for me to get passes to just about any show I need. Maybe Motors and Eight6 can take them and we can all hold hands and sing "Kumbaya"?

As I stated in my e-mail to you, I don't get how I was insulting to Spaz. He was far more insulting on many levels, and he knows it. But he won't be held up to ridicule because he has a friend in MikeP.

When did that become a crime? If you want to build a case against me to defend your friend, come up with more than that. What Spaz did here, he's done in the past...overreact to a dissenting view. Blame me if you want Mike, you know Spaz is equally culpable.

And lastly, apologies. I owe none to Spaz, and expect none from him. Due to the fact all the threads were locked before I got a chance to respond, I started a new thread: not out of nastiness as implied, just out of the need to say what I wanted to say in response the posts made in those locked threads. Again, misconstrued as me being an asshole and carrying things on too long. Think what you want.

In truth, the only people owed an apology here are those who had to read through all this crud and my contributions to it; and for that I wholeheartedly apologize.

Good, then we're done here folks? While everyone is guilty of sticking their foot in their mouth or performing occasional, accidental rectal-cranial inversion from time to time, I really can't understand why people either can't: A) let it go OR B) politely disagree (I know that's a tough one for some of you).

Agreeing to disagree is what keeps this area of the board dynamic and interesting, so long as it doesn't turn into a pissing match. No liberal is going to convert a conservative or vice versa, no atheist is going to convince a Jehovah's Witness to worship at the altar of Atheos, the God that's out to lunch and won't be back for a few billion years ... so get over those delusions of grandeur. And I gotta say -- having a dark sense of humor -- I can appreciate all the zany and twisted humor. Just don't make it at someone else's expense that you don't well enough to know whether they can take it.

So why all the hatin'? I really think that if you could look that other person in the face, buy them a beer, shoot the shit, you'd come around and realize that they ain't all bad.
