A local event made me think of this. There is going to be some sort of train station connected to Green airport in the near future. To "celebrate" the beginning of this project all the political "suits" stand with shovels in front of a pile of dirt so it looks like they are digging the first hole--breaking ground so to say. They make me sick!!! Git yer asses IN the hole and REALLY do some work!!!!![:D][}:)]

Gotta love those suits with their cheesey grins.

If you look close, none of these shovels are actually making contact. I wanna see Beulah in the pink dress roll up those sleeves and break a sweat.
As long as your talking about media pet peeves, howbout meteorologists getting kudos for good weather as if they actually had anything to do with it. We all know that that Big Larry Muholland weather guy on channel 22 in tumbleweed Kansas hasn't created a weather machine so just knock it off.

Personally, I would like to see the people who actually dig the damn holes get some credit rather than a picture of a vacuous CEO smiling like they're actually doing some physical labor. "Oh look at me! I turned a shovel of dirt - I made this Mall happen!"

Builers don't deserve any credit or indeed taxpayers money around these parts, the time they take to build stuff in this city! It's always SO obvious they get paid by the hour! But yeah the picturre of the suits pretending to work is very cheesy indeed, I'd laugh if one feel in to the hole![}:)]

My favorite is the giant pair of scissors for the ribbon cutting ceremony, usually wielded by some third-rate local celebrity or has-been. The big scissors never cut properly, so somebody usually brings out a real pair of scissors to actually cut the ribbon. I also love the giant check for giving someone a prize or presenting a donation. I bet the folks at the bank love cashing those [;)] .

The suits with shovels aren't breaking ground for a new development. They're actually cleaning up after a really big dog--that's one monster doodoo.

Actually, I think they discovered that tunnel I've been digging to get to you in Maine! [;)]
