Is it not time that judges are held accountable for their actions just as doctors are? How many loser piece of shit assholes are the judges going to let loose on technicalities just so that they can kill/rape/molest some more. If the lame judges got tossed in the slammer-real slammers, not country clubs-maybe they would think twice about letting all these assholes out.

Im just thinking immediatly of the case where the asshole set his wife on fire after the judge canned the restraining order right now-but give me a minute and I could come with another MILLION other lapses of judicial judgement.

I think you're right. It would be good to see some discipline for lax sentencing.

On the other side of the coin - I'd love to see some publicity on judges who actually do impose stiff & appropriate sentencing. We rarely hear about when they do what's right.

Judges are not always free to judge. Those technicalities, in many cases, are law that judges cannot ignore. We the people make those laws. Which came first, bad laws, bad lawyers or bad judges?

We institute laws intended to limit the power of the police in order to protect ourselves from the police. I'm talking about the police power of the state here as well as its enforcers. Laws regarding for example, search and seizure protect us but sometimes let bad guys get out of jail free. To solve this dilemma we have judges who are expected to use good judgment but when we don't like their rulings we make laws limiting their power. Than, when we don't like the result of that law, we make another that works against it. You get children going to jail on one side and monsters going free on the other.

You got to know that a restraining order would not have saved that woman. Restraining orders are not barriers to murderers
