I'm Looking to get a cool Watch

Postby Quite Life » Thu Jul 27, 2006 4:37 am

So I am looking to get a cool watch this summer. I'm going to spend around 1K. I am looking at Lower End Tag Heuer, Luminox, Raymond Weil, High End Swiss Army, or the high end Oakley watch. It's got to be Swiss Made and it's got to be a Chronogragh.

Any watch by Tag Heuer is cool.. upper or lower. [;)]

I like Rolex watches best but those that aren't that flashy. Anyway, I wouldn't spend that much money on a watch as I generally glance at my cell phone for the time. [:D] And I'm thinking it's time for me to change it as it has some problems receiving phone calls.

$1000 for a watch? It still just tells the time right?

heh, good one.
I had a Swatch back in the day, but ever since then, I get the cheapest, most functional little watch I can buy, b/c I break my watches with (accidental) alarming, routine frequency. No way can I get and keep a "nice" watch.
have you noticed kids today don't wear watches anymore...b/c they look at their cell phones for the time. I'm one of those people who MUST wear a watch; I always have to know what time it is. As a teacher, my time is highly scheduled.[xx(]

I like nice jewlery too. I think that's too much money to spend on a watch and not enough. I don't think it will buy you real quality. Try a pawn shop.

I can see wanting a nice watch, but I refuse to pay more than $20 for mine. That leaves $9,980 for charity.
I think certain things should not be done like a thousand dollar watch or a one hundred thousand dollar car. I hate to sound boring but some things are just wrong. I can see myself driving the car and wearing the watch then seeing a homeless family. I see the worst in life every day and I would just feel wrong.

Absolutely philly.

Someone commented on my watch a month ago - they asked if it was an antique...it occurred to me that it probably is since I've had it forever. It works - there's no need to replace it. It's a cheapo watch & nothing spectacular. Honestly, I couldn't justify spending $1,000 on something ridiculous like a status symbol.

If said watch provided time travel abilities then I'd consider it.

Philly, I would'nt wear the watch everyday. just once in a while. I would not like to get mugged at the BART station over a watch. I probly would wear it to shows either. Maybe certian clubs like New Wave City, Dark Sparkel or something.

I'm not knocking you dude, to each his own. I was just saying how I am. But I have seen very nice watches for about 3 hundred bucks at Macy's. They look great. I have a brother in law that bought a rolex and I just want to smack him. He is a jerk that needs to show off.

How does wearing a $1000 watch fit in with your puritanical views? Wouldn't you do better by donating that money to your church? Feeding the hungry? Frilly underthings you can secretly wear when you go rail against homosexuals?
