Caught anything from this yet? Heard the new version of "Man in Uniform" and it was great! Guess they figured so many new band using their sound that they might as well tap in!

The new versions of "I Love a Man in the Uniform" and "We Live As We Dream, Alone" are unfortunately the only interesting things on Return the Gift, and that's because they do them in the style of their first two albums. All the other songs are actually songs from their first two albums (and contemporaneous EPs) and they sound essentially identical to the original versions.

Don't get me wrong, these are amazing songs and I'm a huge fan of the band. I saw them a few months back in Boston and I'll be there in Providence in 10 days. But this release is superfluous to people who are already familiar with the music and adds nothing to the band's legacy.

Perhaps a way to capture some new fans, or make a little extra green.
