One had a chorus something like "Can't you hear my heartbeat calling, baby/Somewhere in the darkness, someday maybe/Can't you hear my heartbeat, heartbeat/Tracking you down." It wasn't a Herman's Hermits cover!
The other had a line something like "Help me fight the Viet Cong, Batman." Or was it "fat man"?
These were played on the now defunct station KRFG in Greenfield, Missouri. They mostly played AOR but would throw in some new wave and even "We Want the Airwaves" by the Ramones. A lot of cutout bin stuff that you won't hear on classic rock stations today....I haven't heard those two songs since, and googling the lyrics gets me nothing. Any ideas?
