This is an essential album of the era, not just an electro-pop classic. However, judging by the tracklist, this reissue could have been much more complete with the inclusion of the alternate/demo mixes (the alternate mix of "Sister Of Mercy" on the 2003 "Greatest Hits" is excellent). It's a very rare case when I would really love to have them (the demos), as I know every second of the final mixes and it would be great to have different versions of the songs. Or even better - a new mix of the album.

My intense and deep appreciation for Thompson Twins' unique sound has only grown over the years. In the golden age of eclectic 80's music, they stood out. I've happily bought all their reissues and compilations since the early 2000's and will almost certainly pick this up. Curious if the Pete Hammond mixes originated in 1984. This would have been right around the time Dead Or Alive were about to release "Youthquake", so the PWL "sound" hadn't made a real impression yet. Or are these new Pete Hammond mixes done in the same 80's spirit as the recent Dead Or Alive release? Hmmmm.

Official store:

https://thompsontwins.tmstor.es/

There is also a 'Hold Me Now' CD single which rounds up the versions from the 3-CD along with the original 1984 master

Why would anybody want to buy that CD single when all the tracks are on the 3 CD's ?

Please no! Overrated and making mediocre out of 80s fun. He has been the soup-de-jour and now needs to disappear. He has killed the dynamics on the latest UVox stuff.

Indeed :o . What a pleasant surprise! Still, an old grump like me can always find something to complain about. But perhaps next time  .

Audio seems fine but the booklet doesn't have a tracklist, so there's no info about any of them at all... would have liked some information about those, ah well...

Sounds great, every mix imaginable seems to be there. Only issue is the first couple seconds of the last track (the High Plains Mixer of You Take Me Up) were cut off. The track is there in full on the 2CD issue from several years back.
