The Bather "Trapped And Unwrapped" 1984 CD reissue may 2023

The Bather "Trapped And Unwrapped" 1984 CD reissue may 2023

The Friends Again group was a nursery of talent. In 1981, Chris Thompson, James Grant, Paul McGeechan, Neil Cunningham and Stuart Kerr got together and represented a certain idea of Scottish New Wave.
Stuart Kerr can be found in "Love and Money" and "Texas"...
Paul McGeehan works with "Capercaillie" and "Karen Matheson", "Love and Money", "The Trash Can Sinatras", "Ricky Ross", "Julie Fowlys" and his multi-guest band "Starless"
James Grant has had a successful solo career since the end of his band "Love and Money" and has worked with Karen Matheson at times. I recommend you a favorite of the artist (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtY618gPRaE)
Chris Thompson is rather quiet but has set up his band "The Bather" and is a guest of Paul McGeehan in "Starless".
There is the very beginning of the band with a sound not unlike "Orange Juice", it's this album from 1984 which has just been re-released this May on CD and which can be found on bandcamp.

And then there is the precious, intimate, chamber pop period that starts in 1990 and ends in 1999 with regret for me.
I still had the pleasure to discover him again in 2022 with the album "Summer Lightning".
Chris Thompson wrote one of the songs dearest to my heart "The Bathers ft Elizabeth Fraser - The Night Is Young "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1ATrqbYML4

Just a point of clarification but it's a big one, "Trapped and Unwrapped" is by Friends Again
and not by The Bathers. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The Bathers album to be released in June 2023 will be "Unusual Places To Die" still on the Scottish label...
