Ironic things surround these people! Hezbola bombs Nazareth, which is made up of Arabs. The Arabs blame Israel for the attack. They said Israel should have protected them better. HUH?!

<br>Let's see if I understand this.

The terrorist government of the US, in an attempt to distract us all from the carnage it has wrought upon the innocent peoples of Iraq and Afghanistan, and with an eye on the vast resouces of Syria (!), has unleashed it's client terrorist government, Israel, to reclaim it's border real estate in Lebanon and Gaza and to kill as many innocent Lebanese men, women and children as possible; these actions being justified with vague claims of Iranian/Syrian backing of terrorism.

Have I got it right?

Now THERE'S a textbook example of <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Framing_(communication_theory)" target="blank">framing an issue!</a>[;)]
OK, let me try a different frame:

The fundamentalist Islamist government of Iran, in an attempt to distract us all from it's fanatical pursuit of nuclear weapons, and with an eye to it's avowed goal of destroying Israel, has unleashed it's client terrorist organization, Hezbollah, to hide among the innocent men, women and children of Lebanon while attacking/kidnapping Israeli soldiers and launching Katayushka (sp?) rockets at the citizens of the only democratic, free society in the region.

If the terrorist organizations laid down their weapons there would be immediate peace. If Israel unilaterally disarmed there would be genocide.

As much as I would love to believe this, Western governments & business interests have been sticking their collective nose in the business of the Middle East for much longer than any of these terrorist organizations have existed. There would be peace from one side, but when it comes to taking a piece of the oil profits, the West would kill anyone they needed to. If you don't believe it, read some history books or look at what oil companies are currently doing in Africa. Many have ignored the truth for far too long.

Who in their right mind expects Israel to disarm? As much as I despise how Israel has treated their neighbors (and been treated), expecting them to leave themselves defenseless is retarded.

Kill? God forbid! No, we would ally ourselves with some repressive oligarchy and let them and the oil companies MAKE a killing. Meanwhile, you and me get to pay $3.80/gallon while the boys in D.C. look the other way.

No, wait. That already happened!
My, how surprised I am to learn that it is happening again in Africa! [xx(] [xx(] [xx(]

Why should Israel back down? As was stated this morning on some show--If Al Queida won some electoral control of Mexico a few months back and then decided to launch a few occasional missles our way--would we put up with it? Well on second thought--we probably WOULD put up with it and try sanctions instead!![:D][:o)]

Israel is an aggressive nation committed to expanding its boundaries through war. Lebanon will most likely not get its land and cities back. We Americans are less direct, rather than grab land we control governments using bribes and influence.

Off the subject but not too far... I have a friend who works in Kazakhstan a country only recently independent of Russia. After 80 years of Russian rule what they have is an almost completely secular society. You can practice any religion you want but there are no financial benefits to it and you are expected to keep it to yourself. All holidays are secular May Day, women's day, men’s day and what he sees as the biggest surprise is that the people are educated and the sexes almost equal with women slightly ahead of men when it comes to running things.

Maybe Russia was not the evil empire after all. Only godless heathens.

According to Borat...
He was shocked to discover that American women have the right to vote; on said discovery, he recited the "chain of importance"—"God, man, horse, dog, woman, then rat, then small krutzouli"—to a female voter.
