No, 16,000+ songs and not one from Colorfield. Actually #6 was "Sometimes When We Touch". Whoa, that song always has me reaching for the Kleenex box.

Truth is, I messed up typing. The list should have been:

1. Lighnting Seeds - You Showed Me
2. Tin Huey - I'm a Believer
3. Comsat Angels - Lost Continent
4. Translator - No Time Like Now
5. Kiss - Do You Love Me
6. The Smiths - This Night Has Opened My Eyes
7. They Might Be Giants - Out of Jail
8. Van Halen - Panama
9. Hoodoo Gurus - She
10. Stranglers - Shah Shah a Go Go

Hey Spaz - The only thing going through my head is right now is "This is poetry, yeah yeah ... this is poetry, yeah yeah ... this is poetry-y in-a motion." Thanks for that (I mean it! - I'm gonna listen to Design For Living after I do my iPod shuffle experiment)

Here's the 10 from my iPod that's up to 38 gigs:

1. No Peace For The Wicked - Thompson Twins (Into The Gap 2004 Remaster)
2. Long White Car - Hipsway (Hipsway)
3. Airwaves - Thomas Dolby (The Golden Age Of Wireless)
4. The Serpent Said - Strictly Inc. (Strictly Inc.) One-time project from Genesis keyboardist Tony Banks - rare and fantastic)
5. Because Of You - Giraffe (Giraffe) Prog band from the 80's featuring the late Kevin Gilbert - I heard this song once on the radio in the late 80's and it took me YEARS to find it)
6. Believe In Me - Gangway (The Quiet Boy Ate The Whole Cake) Good Belgian pop
7. The President Slipped And Fell - Big Country (Driving To Damascus)
8. Survive - David Bowie (BBC Radio Theatre, London)
9. Truth Hits Everybody - The Police (Outlandos D'Amour)
10. The Lunatics (Have Taken Over The Asylum) - Fun Boy Three (Just Can't Get Enough - New Wave Hits of the 80's)

What's wrong with the Colourfield? I only have one tune by them on my Ipod ("Can't Get Enough Of You Baby") and I don't own Smashmouth's (though I have two other tunes by them). I know. By admitting to that, I now must play again. So, okay--

1. All You Ever Think About Is Sex--Sparks
2. I Will Follow--U2
3. Dial-A-Teen--Killer Pussy
4. The World I Know--Collective Soul
5. Hunter--Bjork
6. Homosapien--Pete Shelley
7. Tears--Missing Persons
8. All Day--Ministry
9. My Dreams--Pete Shelley
10. Who's That Girl?--Eurythmics

Phew! I think I got out of this unscathed, although a very "wrong" tune from Killer Pussy! :)

I know, admitting Colourfield (and even Smashmouth) is bound to still get me into trouble. :)

My one from the other day came out surprisingly new wave top-heavy as I actually have a lot of genres on mine, here we go again, done in Spaz-style!

THE BELLE STARS-"The Clapping Song" (Belle-Issima! Sweet Memories)

DANNY WILSON-"I Won't Be Here When You Get Home" (Meet Danny Wilson)

FRANZ FERDINAND-"You're The Reason I'm Leaving" (You Could Have It So Much Better)

BIG COUNTRY-"Belief In The Small Man" (Steeltown - bonus track)

a-ha-"Slender Frame" (East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon)

DAVID BOWIE-"Sons Of The Silent Age" ("Heroes")

a-ha-"Early Morning (Live)" (Move To Memphis CD-single) - again with the a-ha, but who's complaining?

MISSY HIGGINS-"The Special Two" (The Sound Of White) - got to meet her when she opened for Liz Phair at the L.A. HOB - cutie!

DURAN DURAN-"Of Crime And Passion" (Seven And The Ragged Tiger)

KENT-"Musik Non Stop" (Hagnesta Hill) - good Swedish rock band

Hookay, this is sooo embarrassing . . . I don't know how this happened--maybe I left my iPod on at work overnight and one of my girl power gym playlists repeated about 50 times, but I am being honest here and not making this up to look more erudite or sophisticated:

1. My Bionic Eyes, Liz Phair
2. What You Waiting For, Gwen Stefani
3. Complicated, Avril Lavigne
4. Spiderwebs, No Doubt
5. I'm Real, Jennifer Lopez (yes, I know [xx(][xx(][xx(])
6. Dark of the Matinee, FF (that's more like it)
7. 40', FF (ditto)
8. A Quick One While He's Away, the Who
9. A Stroke of Genius, Freelance Hellraiser
10. When I Write the Book, Rockpile

Because it comes up randomly. It's like you've brought your Ipod to the rather cultured dinner party--put in on shuffle without any select playlist, and for all you know that inappropriate track may come up. :) (I need to remember sometimes when other people are with me I have tracks by Karen Finley on, for example, which makes the naughtiest new wave, let alone rap tune seem tame by comparison :) ).

Okay, let's try it now.

1. Bonnie Tyler "It's a Jungle Out There" (right off the bat [:I]
2. Smiths "Asleep"
3. Echo and the Bunnymen "Bedbugs and Ballyhoo"
4. Peter Gabriel "Family Snapshot"
5. Cranberries "Dreams"
6. Elastica "Connection"
7. The Time Zone "The Wildstyle"
8. Mike and the Mechanics "A Call To Arms"
9. Gang of Four "I Love a Man In Uniform" (Long Version)
10. Tom Tom Club "Wordy Rappinghood"

Hmm, well this just goes to show the dangers of posting while buzzed. I had a bit of bad news and Mr. Hex says, "let's go get you likkered up." He got lucky, I got so drunk I puked (haven't done that since college) and then I started posting and I posted this in the wrong thread [:D] Do I sound like Frayo?

I meant to post this in the iPod II thread as most played, because my previous response was so hilariously humiliating as so much #$%@ showed up on my most played list. [B)][:I]

If I do a random select it is a little more respectable:

1. Make a Circuit with Me, The Polecats
2. Five Years, Seu Jorge
3. Hot Hot Hot! The Cure
4. Yellow Pills, 20/20
5. Bright Future in Sales, Fountains of Wayne
6. Rudie Can't Fail, the Clash
7. Razorblade, the Strokes
8. Penthouse and Pavement, Heaven 17
9. Tulips, Bloc Party
10. Temptation, New Order

Tonight's random list starts with a personal fav:

1. "Hey, Little Insect" by Johnathan Richman and the Modern Lovers

2. "Candle in the Wind (Live)" by Elton John (or, as it's mis-tagged: "Candle in the Wing")

3. "Friendly Fire (Live at the BBC) by Pet Shop Boys and Frances Barber

4. "Vivaldi: Sposa Son Disprezzata" by Cecila Bartoli

5. "The Time Warp" - Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack (Ahhhh, memories...)

6. "The Things We Did and Didn't Do" by The Magnetic Fields

7. "The Lady is a Tramp" by Frank Sinatra

8. "Mighty Fine" by Danni Minogue

9. "Classic" by Adrian Gurvitz. Oh man, I didn't even know I had this song. This is some serious 80s cheese that I picked up off of the 8-CD Greatest Hits of the 80s comp. Sample lyric:

"Gotta write a classic
Gotta write it in an attic
Baby, I'm an addict
An addict for your love."

10. "Amen" by RinneRadio/Winne from an album called "File under Finnish Ambient Techno Chant" (and we all know how busy that section is at the record store...).
