Red Box were requesting fans send them vinyl and CD rips of their material for this anthology only a couple of months ago (I sent them some stuff), so I'm amazed that Cherry Red can put this package together so quickly. Cherry Red previously released editions of 'The Circle and the Square' and 'Motive' so this could be considered a expanded reissue in some ways, however I hope that in the rush to release the quality control is not side-lined.

Yeh, I bought the CD reissues previously. I am most excited about the unreleased tracks. Curious, what tracks was Red Box asking fans for copies of? Rare B-sides that they no longer had access to? remixes? What did you send them?

I sent Red Box a rip of my 'Train'' and 'Enjoy (Solid Gold Easy Amex)' CD singles, and the DjPaulT rips of 'Chenko (Tenka-Io)', 'For America', 'Heart of the Sun' and 'Lean on Me'. I think Red Box ultimately requested almost every track not already on the Cherry Red reissues, and again I hope the compiler of the anthology does a good job!

Does anyone know which years the tracks on the Demos CD were recorded in?
Which were 1980, which were 1981 and which were 1982?

I am not sure if the liner notes detail this...I will go back and look. I do recall that Simon notes that CD is NOT in order of how the tracks were created, but in an order meant to represent sort of a true "album" feel. In fact, he notes that the LAST track was the first demo they recorded on a 4 track machine.
That said, my cursory listen to the demos was kind've meh actually...they remind me of less proficient Buggles tracks. Cool. But not nearly as interesting as what Red Box later became. The production values of Circle and the Square are a big part of it's appeal.
