<br>I got the CD just now. The booklet is nice, lots of photos (small though!) and information. I updated my discography to include the two Modern Jazz singles, and updated a few things like durations derived from the CD.

The group liked the original single version of Love moves in strange ways better than the re-recorded album version, nothing we can do about that. While taste differs, they COULD at least have made the album version available as a free download to those who bought the CD...
Track 5 is "In Love in Life", hmm was it only included on a Yugoslavian LP in 1984?

I also found it on this "promo CD":

Hi JW,
Blue Zoo fully take on board all that has been said about the recent re-issue of our album 2x2. As has already been pointed out on the thread, the original Blue Zoo album was shelved, as Magnet Records felt it to be 'uncommercial' very short sightedly overlooking the evolution of the band. 2x2 became a bit of a hybrid, with songs reworked from the shelved album mixed with new songs such as Forgive & Forget, Count on me, Can't Hold Me Down etc etc.. To be perfectly honest those songs were never and certainly aren't now regarded as shining examples of our songwriting, far from it, hence the reason why they were kind of relegated to bonus tracks on the re-issue. As Cherry red wanted an extended version of the album, songs such as These Days, Fate, Chameleon Waves, Shine etc were considered over these tracks and more applicable, despite their comparatively low fi production. We understand that in doing this the original running order was lost but due to the nature of the album we felt that very little was lost to this regard. The original single version of Love Moves In Strangeways as you pointed out was seen as a far better version of the song by the band hence the reason for its inclusion on the re-issue. However, in retrospect, the album version, which we all do like by the way, should have also have been included and we are hoping that it can be included as an extra on the digital download (when it arrives). We completely underestimated how popular this particular version of Love Moves was and is, our apologies.
In addition to the recent re-issue we are looking into whether Warners have the masters of the shelved album produced by Lawrence Diana, it has a flow, identity and cohesiveness that is lacking on 2x2. Thanks to all who aired their views, we are listening. Ta - Blue Zoo.
