<br>yes please no more mention of erasure, heaven 17, tears for fears, howard jones, king, pet shop boys, belouis some and blancmange since they are all not new wave. lets ignore the fact that a lot of US listeneres associate new wave with 80s synthpop. Lets ignore that this site itself was based upon these assumptions (take a look at the songlist on the main page). let us ignore the premise of this site and focus on the obscure guitar based post punk bands who were played maybe once or twice on an obscure canadian radio station. yes let us focus on that kind of "new wave". In fact we can impose a few rules,
1.no artist beyond 83, since new wave started 77/78 and peaked in 83. No artist after that can really claim to be part of the "new wave" movement.
2.Lets stick to bands that "new wave" collectors associate with new wave such as elivs costello, blondie and talking heads.
people wishing to talk about belouis some or red box can visit a synthpop reissue forum (wait there isn't one..oh well)
maybe rememberthe80s should start a forum.

Humanracer,
You don't get it...We have a very, very liberal definition of New Wave here. Rick Astley and 99% of the SAW acts don't belong even under that most liberal definition. Why is this so hard to understand? I think a few SAW fans are getting there shorts in a bunch and starting to post out of spite.
Has anyone tried Google...
