I just got Kate Bush's Aerial on vinyl. IT IS BEAUTIFUL! My dad made fun of me for it (You'd think it would be the daughter making fun of the father for collecting archaic sonic discs not the other way around) but I argued you don't get 25 page big booklets or the full effect of the artwork. He had no choice but to agree with that.

Picked up a factory sealed Kraftwerk 2. I'm dying to hear it, but I would hate to ruin it by cutting the shrink wrap.

Go ahead and open it. Chances are it's a bootleg. The first 2 albums were "unofficially" re-released about 3 years ago.

Last week, I found both UV Pop LPs (No Songs Tomorrow and Bendy baby Man) at a local record store. The former album is pure synth glory, and the latter is C-86 style indie rock; both are incredible. I also picked up a compilation called Second Strike, with a lot of post punk, experimental, and dark electro groups.

Just got a collection of those old comic book and 45 sets that Peter Pan Records (aka Power Records) put out in the 70's. The only ones missing are the Planet of the Apes sets, and the Tomb of Dracula set. Why hasn't someone used this same concept with CD's?

Oh baby, I had some of these - forgot about them. Had all the Planet of the Apes ones, along with Swamp Thing and some others...I forget now. My mother sold them all in a garage sale, no doubt for about 25 cents a pop.

Found a nice copy of Safari by Minimal Man for $8, and a Japanese new wave/pop band called Spy for $5.00. Got 2 other "arty" records that I can't think of the titles of off the top of my head.

Last week I got an album similar to Switched On Bach called Plugged In Jpolin. Moog versions of ragtime paino. Cooler in concept than execution, but still worth having in the collection.

Oh, and I got a Robert Rental 7" off of ebay for a few bucks.

It really sucks being a record junkie while broke.

Is there anything special inside the Sputnik box or is it just the box that's different?

The box has a picture-label version of the LP plus a 12-page photo booklet (basically the same booklet as the German CD I got when the album came out only a little larger - 6"x6" instead of 5"x5"). I heard once it was also supposed to have a T-shirt in it but I got it used and my copy didn't.

I have been vinyl shopping for the past few months and I've found some absolute treasures. I found The Tubes two disc What do you want from Live, Dolby's cube, and other delicious Dolby singles and rarities, OH MY GOD! It's been a good haul.
