I know what you mean about people not knowing anything about the Baltic countries. I also have spent many times patiently explaining where I lived for 2 years to folks here. Most people assume it's Russia. And assume I learned Russian. We learned the language of the country we lived in--Eesti, Latvija, and Lietuva--although many of us also picked up Russian depending where we lived. ( I lived in Riga, and my neighborhood was like 90% Russuian ! I heard more Russian than Latvian in my 'hood. )
Yah, Estonia was cool. NOT a place many folks go to. They should go just to check out Jaanipaev !!
