This is one of the few existing pix of my beloved red 1976 Ford Courier pickup (5spd, A/C, Craig stereo w/350 watt EQ amp) taken my senior year of high school (1981). Drove it from late 1980 til I sold it in late 1984.
<IMG SRC="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v395/richp62/Personal%20Pix/1981.jpg">

After being sans vehicle for the better part of 6 months, I took delivery of my first new vehicle, a factory ordered 1985 Chevy Cavalier wagon (w/5spd stick, A/C, custom JVC 300 watt EQ stereo, smoked glass)- intentionally ordered as such to minimize my new vehicle comprehensive insurance premium (NY rates for under age 25 drivers were astronomical) My friends called it the morticians wagon[:I]. Put 85,000 miles on that ride in the following 3 years until the cat converter failed causing an engine fire. Went right back to the dealer and ordered me an '88 with a 2.8 V6 Z24 drivetrain + a GETRAG 5spd. Put 150,000 trouble free miles on that one over the next 10 years.

I drove a 1974 Super Beetle, bright red. Drove it through college, too, and then put it out to pasture at my parents' house. My dad decided to take it on as a project and cleaned up all of the wear I'd put on it -- so now it's back in my garage under a cover, in mint condition. I drive it on summer evenings, but that's about it. In fact, that's what my "board name" is based on -- the plate on my beetle.

I had a silver 1983 Nissan Sentra from 1987-1992. I bought it used, and it had a decent Alpine stereo in it.

Oh, the adventures me and this ol' gal had. Regretably, I traded it in in 1982 for one of the talking models...

man, you all had sweet rides back then.

Me, I had a dependable Huffy Schwinn in the 80s. And the 90s, too, although there were mountain bikes and street bikes in the mix, too. Didn't get my 1st car until 2000, which many of you know is my beloved '74 Plymouth Duster.

I drove my father's Plymouth Reliant K car, the biggest piece of sh** on 4 wheels. To get on a highway you'd have to floor it from the entrance ramp or else you wouldn't have built up enough speed to enter the traffic.

My first car.
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c173/3eiram/buick.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>

And it was brown. It backfired constantly.

I cannot find a picture of my second boat, 1978 olds 98 Regency.

My third car in back then was a Datsun 280ZX which I loved. I bought it without knowing how to drive a stick shift.
This is the color I had.
